  1. I would like this fixed, removed, or a button to turn this off in 2023 also PLEASE. Like Whitfield said above just moving my mouse over the edge of the drawing screen to grab a tool or to access the object info palette causes my drawing screen to move. I must spend 1 HOUR out of every 8-hour day re-zooming, relocating, recentering my drawing after the screen moves inadvertently! This is a counterproductive, non useful feature. If I want my screen to move, I am happy to hold down the mouse button with or without a tool in place like it used to be in the 2019. Will this be fixed in 2023 or do we need to spend $$$$$$ for a new version to address an issue that seems to have been purposely added to increase sales revenue for the new now "fixed" version? As a suggestion; I understand Vectorworks wants to keep improving the software product by adding new features. After all, if Vectorworks didn't do this we would still be on MiniCAD and the company would be out of business. It is understandable that a company needs something new to sell. HOWEVER, if Vectorworks wants to add new features to their expensive product that have little to no value and serves no practical or useful purpose to productivity, than I would STRONGLY suggest that these new features come with an on and off button. Adding non useful features to gouge your customers into paying for a new version for a fix disrespects the loyal customers you have. Especially the customers that have been loyal to Vectorworks since MiniCAD like myself. Vectorworks needs to address this with a fix since it decreases productivity and the purpose for Vectorworks "enhancements" and new software versions is to increase productivity. My 2 cents.
  2. Yup, I do use the click to drag duplicates and it works fine. But click, click, click, snapping to a selected midpoint or endpoint etc. continuously would be SO fast especially if you have 40 of them that are all over the screen in random locations. Maybe VW can get that feature toggle in there someday?
  3. Hello! I am laughing a bit for asking such a basic question as I have been a Vectorworks - MiniCad user for almost 20 years! Is there a way to place multiple instances of a rectangle or other shape? For example I click on the rectangle tool, I enter the size I want, select the handle placement, and click in the screen and get a rectangle. If I want another rectangle of the exact same size and parameters I have to open the tool once again and click "OK" since all the parameters are still entered from the previous use. This is fine but in my work every project I have requires multiple rectangles for example. It would be nice to flip a switch so that I can click, click, click, etc. placing the same rectangle all over the drawing at the click points until I release the tool and not have to continuely open up the tool for every identical rectangle I want. Is this possible? Over the years I get to the point of a project where I need this but I just want to finish the drawing and just work with opening the tool repeatedly. During this process I have always said "I am going to find out how to place multiple instances of the same shape without opening the tool each time". Well finally after 20 years today is the day! LOL Anyone know if this is possible? I know from my class training with AutoCAD long long ago that AutoCAD did this 20 years ago so I figure Vectorworks must do it too. Haha. Thanks for the help!
  4. Thanks Neil & Mark! That was it and it is now back to what I am use to haha. I have read the documents on that function and now I will probably add that to my favorite tools and methods. I can see where that would come in handy and speed a few things up. Thanks again! Jeff
  5. Hi All! I updated my computer and reinstalled Vectorworks. Of course all my work preferences needed to be reset. I have been a Vectorworks user for close to 3 decades so this basic question is embarrassing to ask...LOL! I have a cursor that turns RED on certain snap points and not others. This is driving me crazy as the snap point PREFERS the RED cursor location over the snap pint I really want. For the life of me I can't seem to find how to turn that off. I thought it was "show parametric constraints" but it is not that. Is this something new that was added or have I lost my mind after all these years LOL! Thanks for the help in advance. Jeff
