  1. Now you're trying to lose my object on me. I'm no layer management freak when I'm doing schematics. In fact most of my objects are on one or two layers when I'm just batting some ideas around. It's all about speed and being able to print something out fast.
  2. Nah, I do that now. Can't we hit command-F (0r approved equal) while the object is highlighted in the object palette?
  3. when you select a few objects and use the navigation arrows at the top of the objects palette to highlight one of the objects in the selected group, why can't you move that object forward or backward? I often design in 2d elevation and have too many filled objects piled on top of each other. If I happen to marquee the correct hidden object, I can move it to the front and use it. It might be useful to rope an area and then scroll through the navigation arrow to highlight it and only move that object.
  4. Enhance our 2D world. Would it make any sense to have folders of 2D only symbols in the Object Library? I'd like to have quick access to often used ConDoc types of 2D symbols in plan and elevation ie: trees and plants, vehicles, site amenities, toilet room fixtures and windows and doors! Structural members like bar joists and corrugated deck would be great too. Currently the files are needlessly cluttered with PIOs and 3D symbols.
  5. Please add "select by texture" to the current list of object types. Unfortunately, I don't always have my Class act together and need to quickly grab similarly textured objects.
  6. Oh, and another thing.... While rendering the "group view" I should be looking at the current lighting effects set outside the group. I tend to work on 3d to test initial schemes/ideas and would like to get from Thought A to Thought A.1 quicker. I don't want to waste time moving items from layer to layer or waste time rendering entire scenes to see portion I'm tinkering with. I'm thinking along the lines of a 3d sketchpad that validates an idea in a realistic detailed setting. I certainly use the final model renderings for presentation but NEVER use the 3d drawing for condoc purposes. As mentioned in other posts, generally the payoff comes when that 3d thought is represented in a completed 2d condoc. in the hands of a contractor.
  7. You can view other objects while viewing within a group by changing the preference. I'm not sure if that's exactly what you're refering to. And since you brought it up, I want to be able to render (full and otherwise) while viewing within a group. That would be a HUGE time-saver. Unless I'm missing something, I now move a group to another layer to be able to see only the grouped items rendered. OSX.latest VW10.latest
  8. EVERYtime I create a mask transparency, it is distorted horizontally, squeezed as it were. What gives? MacOSX..2.3 G4500, lots of ram vw10.latest
  9. I'd like to expand the amount of standard line weights. So, can I? OSX
  10. Realistic trees, people, vehicles etc. General entourage items.
  11. Yes, it's about time. NNA, please take advantage of the dual systems. Pretty please.
  12. Program your right click mouse to do it. While you're at it, load that right click up with loads of commands, it's quite the time saver.
  13. Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is to be able to see realistic trees with shadows in my native file. I want on-the-fly ambient lighting. I want realistic lighting with controls. I want more symbols, period. VW10.0.1 OS10.2.2
  14. The aforementioned bug is really bugging me lately. I know it's somewhat out of your capable hands, but this is quite a handicap to the rendering/presentation process. G4500 -1gig VW v.10.0.1 Mac OS 10.2.2 Since MC4
  15. Dude, upgrade your Mac OS. It's download time.
  16. Another cause is that the object is flipped horizonally or vertically. This often happens with symbols.
  17. Ditto. I've had no glitches with this procedure either. You get all the assigned attributes except for mapped textures. All 3d elements are imported as 3d polys, so there are alot more individual facets.
  18. In any case, the massing model tool is truly useless. Can I get a rebate of $7.95 and send it back? (ha ha)
  19. Motivo, on VectorDepot from an Italian dude, is the afore mentioned plug-in. Mamma Mia! Try it, you like it.
  20. Mac OS 10.2.1 PowerMac G4 500 desktop
  21. Please, I beg you, incorporate the ability to simply put in the number of vertical mullions you want in a window wall and have the program space that number evenly across the length of the wall. Maybe even have a button that would Center the desired number of mullions at a specified offset within the length of wall. Yummy.
  22. Just copy the AutoCad layer pallette action. I know they're the enemy, but you know, even a stopped clock .............
