How to import DWG files into Vectorworks

Hello, I am trying to import a DWG into my edition of Vectorworks 2020. I noticed that in Tools I have very limited options in the import setting and cannot set the scale etc , which I saw in a 2018 youtube video. When I import the DWG file it opens as a line drawing and then as soon as I lift the cursor it reverts to very thick paintbrush lines, so the imported drawings are unreadable.
