  1. Hi all, I'm struggling to get proposed contours as site modifiers working properly without responding to parts of the existing contours. I have an existing site model which looks right and proposed contours as 3D polygons on class 'site-DTM-modifier' as shown in the screenshot. The terraces are 3m high and the contours are at 1m intervals. The issue is that for some reason when I apply the proposed contours as a site modifier on the DTM-modifier class to the existing site model the top of the terraces is dropping back down to meet the existing contour when it should be near flat. As the purpose of this project is find out the cut and fill for the terraces I'm a bit stuck - would really appreciate some help! I have been able to make a separate proposed model that looks fine (see screenshot) by composing the proposed contours with sections of existing contour that will remain but as I need to calculate the cut and fill this doesn't help - but it does show what it is supposed to look like!
  2. Hi, is it possible to turn on the 'mass plants' option for existing trees? ....it would look so much better on my site but I can't find an option for it.
  3. @CipesDesign Nevermind, it worked putting one texture bed on top of another!
  4. @CipesDesign Hi Peter, do you know if this issue has been resolved? ...i've got the same issue with my site. Thanks 🙂
  5. @jeff prince Wow thank you so much for your offer but amazingly as I was sorting out the classes on the file, deleting the irrelevant data the plants appeared in both 2D and 3D and then I discovered the culprit of a site modifier issue too that's been bugging me for hours. I started the model with an import from Rhino and somehow these items ended up on that class which was turned off - whoops! ...thank you anyway! 🙂
  6. Hi all, wondering if anyone can help - my agave plant graphics are visible in the top/plan but without the coloured 'plant style 2D graphics' and are not visible at all in the top or 3D views. I have assigned 2D and 3D graphics (but in the 'edit' 3D graphics I can just see the cross lines - last screenshot - i'm not sure if this is normal?. All layers are visible including the 'Plants/Component' classes. The agaves are on their own class on a layer called 'existing trees' (not sure if that makes a difference). Hopefully the screenshots below help to make sense! ...any help would be so appreciated! 🙂 I did manage to get maple trees to show in 3D when I was testing it but I can't figure out what the difference was with those.
  7. Thanks, I have just restored all the default settings - still no luck 😞 I can open the NZ plant database no problem so it's clearly a linking issue but banging my head on the wall trying to figure it out 😐
  8. @jeff prince As you say though, if the resources browser is a different thing perhaps it is the whole VW plant database that I can't access rather than just the 'Existing Tree.txt' - sorry, i'm completely new to VW!
  9. @jeff prince Thanks for your reply. I think you're right but i've tried setting the location to the general users folder and also more specific plant folders within this location by following the instructions here https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2020/eng/VW2020_Guide/Plants1/Selecting_the_plant_data_source.htm#XREF_39180_Selecting_the ....but I can't get it to work - must still be doing something wrong...
  10. Hi all, I'm a newbie to VW and i'm having an issue accessing the plant library for existing trees - there's no options (see 1st screenshot below). I have setup the plant database with the right location (I think) and the resource library is accessible with the plant tool (2nd screenshot), so it seems like it is linked correctly but I must be missing something! ..does anyone know what the issue is? Thanks! Erika
