Vessel Studio is a boutique architecture and design studio with a refined modernist sensibility striving to elevate both practice and product through rigorous research, exploration and execution. We design exquisite living spaces primarily but dabble in a broadening array of design typologies and believe strongly that Architecture is merely one branch of the design tree. We are growing and are looking for the following qualities in a colleague: ::An inquisitive collaborator with a penchant for craft ::A critical thinker with an even more critical eye for detail ::A maker and a doer ::An independent self starter ::An outspoken voice both searching for and serving knowledge ::A technical wizard who dreams in vectors and splines ::Someone who wants to lead rather than follow ::Self-directed, with a high level of initiative. We expect an intermediate Architect to have 2-5 years of post graduate professional experience. Since we are a small firm, you can expect to have a broad array of responsibilities and exposure to all aspects of a project's life cycle, from concept through completion. The position will begin with a 3-6 month evaluation period with the possibility for full time employment beyond. It is structured as a remote, part time, flexible, hourly position (30-40 hours/week to start). Competitive hourly rate offered based on experience and raw talent. We are currently working remotely and do not have plans to re-enter the "studio" quite yet. We provide a flexible, deadline based schedule so you can work your preferred hours with scheduled daily check ins and zoom meetings etc..   5. Vessel Studio is an award winning, high-end residential architecture and design studio in Los Angeles, CA. We are on the hunt a talented and motivated collaborator to join the team and help create amazing spaces. If selected, you will be joining a young, growing, design-driven studio aiming for greatness. You will be working directly with the Principal Architect on several challenging modern residential projects in Malibu as well as other unique projects currently in development. The position is part time/hourly contract work, averaging 10-30 hours/week with the possibility of full time employment after 6 months. Qualifications: Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited institution. 1-2 years post graduate work experience in an architectural firm with direct experience producing construction documents and detailing. Experience in residential architecture a plus. Proactive, self starter who thrives on independence and is motivated to exceed "average". We are looking for a leader and someone who will take ownership of and pride in their work. Willingness to multi-task, work on several different projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work remotely, with access to hardware required. VW license a plus. Someone who takes pride in the creation of beautiful, accurate and clear drawings and documents used to build quality structures. Strong conceptual design skills. Efficient + accurate drafting skills with particular attention to detail and line weight! Positive attitude and driven to learn/succeed. Proficiency/Mastery in Vectorworks 2D; BIM a plus.
