Thank you markdd! I agree with jeff, I know this can be done in autocad, it's more of a stylistic choice when making drawings, specially with detail drawings. The workaround is edit the pdf in illustrator.

Is there a way to adjust how the line appears when plotting? The standard line in vectorworks (windows at least) is rounded. Here is an example in illustrator.
