Greetings! Drafting Cafe Architects is an Oakland, CA based architecture firm that specializes in residential remodels and additions around the Bay Area. We are looking to hire an Architectural Designer/CAD drafter either inside or outside of the San Francisco Bay Area and California. Working from home during SIP has been a successful experiment over the last 3+ months and we're taking the leap into full-time remote employment. A strong foundation in Vectorworks is important for our drafters. We use many of the BIM tools and 3D modeling for most of our projects.
The ideal candidate will have an architectural background or will have construction and CAD experience. We are a Mac and Vectorworks based office, and will provide a 16" MBP laptop with VWX 2020 preloaded.
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Working on CAD drafting tasks when assigned by Project Managers and Designers
- Balancing several projects and tasks at once
- Working with our Project Managers and other team members in a professional manner
- Keeping track of hours spent
- Staying organized and tracking progress of projects with the flexibility to support the team as needed

Our firm has been providing quality residential design in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 10 years. Because we only work on residential remodels and additions, our firm is modeled differently than most architecture offices. Job positions in our office are specific to the part of the project each person works on. We work closely as a team. Our office is a relaxed atmosphere and we put a focus on our office culture.
Compensation is competitive. We offer full health insurance, 401k plan, PTO and we close our office for a week before the New Year.
