  1. If you run Modify > Edit Group (or Command-[) you can access the original shape you clipped the Roof with + delete it to get the Roof back to how it was before. Or you can edit the shape to change the way that the Roof is clipped.
  2. Please make it so that you can expand the 'Materials and Classes' pane in the Door Style + Window Style dialogs. The new controls are great but the pane is far too small for the amount of info it contains + it's a pain scrolling from side to side + resizing the columns in an effort to see everything clearly. At the very least the Materials + Classes pane + Preview panes should expand equally when you resize the dialog. The same applies to the '2D Visualisation' pane where the class drop-downs have a fixed width which means long class names are always truncated + hard to read. Thank you!
  3. Incidentally, if you prefer your snaps in the pre-VW2024 position you can unpin them from the view bar + they will return here.
  4. No. As far as I know the only way is to delete the 2D components via the Component Edit interface, which is not very quick, especially if you have lots of 2D components... Or Command-K in a 3D view + create a new symbol...? I wonder if there is a way of doing it by script if you have hundreds of symbols to convert?
  5. I have checked + am seeing the same thing. I've not really started using VW2024 in earnest yet due to other issues so hadn't come across this. To correct it the 3D geometry for the hardware symbols needs to be flipped on the Y axis. Perhaps @Matt Panzer can comment. I guess it is related to the overhaul of Door handing in VW2024 but I am surprised that the stock VW symbols weren't modified for users accordingly...? I use my own hardware symbols + only have a couple which are different inside/outside so easy enough to do... But be good to hear from Matt first... I just checked the Forum as I vaguely remembered hearing about the hardware reversal issue previously. See: The issue is mentioned in a thread about other things but in my quick scan doesn't seem to be addressed... @Matt Panzer: should I edit my hardware symbols + flip the geometry or is this being resolved some other way at your end? Thanks.
  6. You can! As far as I know you have full control over what is displayed in the TBB Style dialog, in the OIP + in the TBB object itself obviously. What do you mean when you say click through to the next page...? Project Data + Sheet Data in the TBB settings...?
  7. I have a #DTRLZ# Data Tag but it still needs sending to surface...
  8. Yep 🙂 And that would mean either inserting the Stake in a 3D view or inserting it in Top/Plan then running Send to Surface...? Or is there another way? I only mention this because I have been caught out using Stakes in VPs where they merrily pick up Site Model elevations but you can easily place them on Hardscapes or Landscape Areas not realising the elevations being returned are no longer coming from the terrain... (I mean gravel drives etc draped over the terrain) It would be nice if the Stake saw the hardscapes in these circumstances as part of the site model, same way you can choose hardscape when sending to surface.
  9. Unless 'for the sloped driveway' means it's the elevation of a Hardscape that @LisaCoxGardens is trying to display with the Stake: I think the Stake sees the site model underneath the Hardscape if the Hardscape has a thickness + is set to cut the site model...?
  10. Thanks very much for checking Matt - very glad to hear all looks good in Update 4! That will save me some clicking, having to create my Roof Faces as Roofs (lots of gables...) 🙂 @JuanP do you know if there's a date for Update 4 yet...? Thank you
  11. Aha yes I probably agree with you + I think this relates to a wider issue regarding options for managing data attached to PIOs. With Title Block Borders for example you can rename existing data fields, add as many additional fields as you want + name them whatever you want, decide whether any field is text, pop-up, boolean, etc, decide whether they will display in the TBB dialog + in the OIP... It would be great to have the same flexibility with all PIOs. I don't really utilise the data attached to Plants that much myself but Doors + Windows you have ten user fields but no option to rename them, no option to change the data type, no option to have them display in the OIP... Be amazing if you had all the options you have with TBBs...
  12. I have been having Windows disappear in Top/Plan too in VW2024... Very strange. It has happened after editing the style.
  13. Another option would be to attach a custom record with a pop-up field for the Plant Type...?
  14. Instead of using a black pen with 20% opacity you should use a grey pen with 100% opacity. I think opacity only applies to 2D objects whereas Hidden Line is a 3D render mode.
  15. @Matt Panzer I've only just got around to checking this file. I wanted to see why it was working here + not in my files. It seems that in @mattfox's file the clipping works whilst the Roof is a Roof but if you convert it into two Roof Faces it doesn't work. Is this your understanding of how the bug behaves? And will it be resolved for Update 4? I am positive that when I last tried it it wasn't working with Roofs either so perhaps this was corrected in a previous update...? It would just be good to know where we stand with the functionality - what works + what doesn't + how long it will be before it's back to how it was in VW2023 - because we're quite far into the release cycle now... Many thanks!
  16. Absolutely. But I got the impression @verdancedesign was talking about container classes e.g. =DATABASE(NOTINREFDLVP & (NOTINDLVP) & ((R IN ['Plant Record']) & (C='PLANT-Succulent') & ((L='planting')))) In which case you wouldn't be able to combine succulents, shrubs, perennials, etc in the same LA + report on them by class. (I think Plants must these days be one of the few objects for which you can't specify an insertion class in the Style...?)
  17. It wouldn't take long to model the items in your screenshots from scratch... Probably the quickest + most satisfying option in the end.
  18. In the Tag settings, select 'Set Custom Tag...' from the drop-down then in the 'Set Custom Tag' dialog select 'SKU' from the drop-down. You should be able to assign a Text Style to the tag class + this be applied to the tag text.
  19. How are you able to assign individual Plants within a Landscape Area to different classes?

No I haven't tried that + I think you're probably right about the number of points. It was more just an observation: that in my case the same room scanned with Scaniverse resulted in 500,000 points whilst with Nomad it was 2,000,000 points... To be honest, the point clouds I have taken with my iPad - whether using Nomad or Scaniverse - have been of limited use compared to professionally produced point clouds. One room I scanned last week was out by 100mm (room dims 4.5m x 2.5m)! Not sure why... But I will keep experimenting, including trying Scaniverse again...
  21. The problem is that your None class is set to have no fill. The 3D symbol you are using for the rail has its geometry in None class + is set to take it's fill by class therefore it has no fill. And because it has no fill it is not displaying its texture. So the problem is with your file, not any of the resources. Objects need to have a fill in order to display textures. The galvanised post symbol also has its geometry in None class but this time is not set to take its fill from the class, instead it has a solid fill in the attributes palette. This is why this symbol is showing its texture. Edit None class + change fill from None to Solid + you get this: Or edit the 3D component of the rail symbol + give it a fill in the attributes palette.

With Scaniverse, you scan your objects then choose whether you want to export as PLY, LAS or OBJ i.e. as a point cloud or a mesh. Claes is exporting as mesh. With Nomad, you can only create a mesh by using 'Generate 3D models from photos' so to do what Claes is doing you really need to use Scaniverse. As far as point clouds go however, when I tested it Nomad gave me more points for the same scan than Scaniverse did so I guess that means Nomad produces a better quality point cloud.
  23. Unfortunately the link didn't work...?
  24. I am not aware of any of the stock VW Fence styles displaying without textures. They should all work out of the box. It would be easier to diagnose what's going wrong for you if you posted a file
