  1. I was reduced my 24x36 drawing to a 11x17 print. I went to File/Page Setup to set paper size to 11x17 with a scale factor of 50%. The drawing and titleblock reduced according to the paper size and scale factor but not the schedule. I went to Page/Set Print Area and select One Page and the Width and Height confirmed 11x17. I don't understand why the schedule is not reduced. please help.

    line weight

i think i got it. it's meaningless to set the symbol's layer and classes in the pallete. The actual layer and classes of that symbol is set in the objects before creating them into a symbol. i started to clean the drawings by using the active and gray only layers and classes settings to place the symbols and objects to the correct layers and classes. the print-outs came out fine. thanks katie and bruce....
  3. i'm confused..... i group a symbol and on the drawing, the palette shows the line weight and layers and class exactly what i want when i print it out, the symbol line weight is different. i then ungroup the symbol, and make sure the objects are what they should be. what is confusing is why the symbol shows on the pallete is not printed the way it should be... vw10.5
  4. sorry...type too fast...i'm NOT sure if vw could do that but i would do it in photoshop using the opacity slidder in one of the palletes. hope this helps.
  5. i'm sure if vw could do that but i would make the transparency/opacity change in photoshop and export as an image to vw. hope this helps.
  6. i was working on the master file and workgroup ref the layers to the elev and section files yesterday. there were many crashes ( the unexpectedly quite because of error type 2) about 4 times and restarted each crash. i saved it to the server and back-up. this morning, i opened the section file and it showed messages saying it cannot find the layers from the master file. i close the section file and opened master file and the message said the file is damaged and will opened as much as data as possible and followed by the 'unexpectedly quit ...error type 2' message. the master file is about 6 mb. i tried the clt-D for a recover master file and still the same 'damage file' message appear. can anyone tell me what is happening? macosx/vw10.5

    Clean Sections

draw over with polylines...i have scratch, haw and hum about it..because vw doesn't have the limited section....
  10. can anyone tell me how to turn off the sound for the snap?
  11. Oops...my WHAT was for Robert..... Thanks Kirsten. So,first I workgroup ref layers into a file and then layer link the layers on the same file. Is that right?
  12. i keep having this message of some layer links are removed from workgroup reference. I removed the layers indicated in the message and added them again into the drawing and again the same message appear. I check the layers and they are all there ( in italics) and check the layer link box and the layers are there. the layers are in the drawings. so ,what is happening? is this a bug? macos x/vw10.5
  13. i couldn't access to this tech board site in the last 2 days until now. So, just wondering if anyone has the same problem. I'm puzzled.
