  1. A few wish list items for the VectorWorks VR App Odyssey: The ability to save views in the VGX file is great. please extend to Odyssey. Ideally, transfer saved views from VW to these apps. Improved Lighting Either a "headlight mode" or User lights from VW, and/or Bake lighting from VW to textures in Odyssey Screen casting: so additional viewers, not in VR, can see what the VR uses see on a tethered machine.
  2. Great! So far, saved views work really well. I was expecting the VGX file to open with my saved views from VW but that apparently isn't the case I quickly figured out how to reset the "Home view" and now that is how my file opens. That's a big help! Adding additional views is intuitive, too. So, a nice improvement overall.
  3. @inikolova I really appreciate the new saved view features in the VGX viewer. Are there plans to update the Odyssey App too? I'd love to see saved views and some basic lighting too.
  4. I had this conversation with a graphic designer who does a lot of print production work. She noted that unless you are using offset printing, spot colors don't mean much in today's digital workflows. Spot colors were useful because they allowed printmakers to separate plates for individual colors. But that is not how digital printing works. It is easier to use a HEX code or CMYK value and specify a Color Profile to match. With Pantone requiring a subscription to integrate into Adobe products this has become our new workflow. We specify HEX code colors, do proof prints to ensure they print as desired, then we provide a proof to match for final output. But, to get back to your original question. No, there is not a way to tag a color as a spot color in Vectorworks , flagging it fora Printer.
  5. Thank you @inikolova That is good to know. I am looking forward to the new release! Cheers.
  6. Hi, friends. I can't get VGX files to open with a saved initial view set for "walk through" mode. I've tried : Setting initial perspective view Using a saved perspective view Creating a RW Camera and using the active camera as the current view All lead to a "bird's eye" view of my model. I've tried viewing the model in a browser and in Nomad, no luck. Any tips on setting the initial view in VGX files?
  7. It sounds like @Scott Schwartz, AIA is looking to have multiple instances of a building placed on a site model and then create a rendering of that site. The suggestions here point to using several Referenced Design Layer View Ports to place the building model on the site model. Then, with the scene composed, create a single Sheet Layer Viewport for the final rendering.
  8. That's pretty odd. Can you share a screenshot or something? What version of VW are you using and what OS? And, just to be clear, RenderWorks and Redshift are two different "engines." Both do "photorealistic" renderings but are fundamentally different. With that said, I wouldn't expect a shift in the underlying geometry of each rendering type.
  9. I'm not seeing that in VW24 or VW25. Once you delete a viewport, that number immediately becomes available for a new viewport.
  10. You have a lot of questions, It would be really helpful if you could post a file. All of your questions seem to represent non-normal behavior. So there is something wrong with your file setup. Although, this one might be a misunderstanding of the steps. I could be wrong about this one, I don't see this in the help files. That 3rd click of a section line is not connected to the [Extents beyond cut plane] depth of the section cut. It is more about the shape of the cut line ( for offset cut planes) than the depth of the cut. If I am right about this, it sure seems like an enhancement request. if nothing else, change the view direction indicator to be more like the newer window/door tools with a blue arrow.
  11. Likely there are viewports present on hidden classes. ( or based on your other post, far from the origin) Without a file, it is hard to tell what exactly is happening. I wonder if you are using a template that has some lingering hidden viewports, or viewports without Drawing Markers ( they still have a number even if a Drawing Marker (what you are calling a Title bubble) is not present.
  12. Possible options: Create a custom Renderworks Style using Lines and Shadow in a Sheet Layer Viewport (SLVP), You may want to use this as a "foreground Render" with "shaded" or RenderWorks realistic" as the background render. Alternatively, you can use Shaded or RW as the backgound and Hidden line as the foreground Also, a class override for the walls could get you what you are looing for. Assign the walls you want semi-transparent to a new Class. In a SLVP override that classes texture to use a glass or Acrylic texture. lastly, and it can be a pain but we all do it, you can stack two viewport on top of each other. In the underlying layer, set the render to shaded with the walls off. the top layer set to hidden line, with the wall on If you can post your sample file we can help demonstrate.
  13. if you no longer have have access to the history, like Markdd says, you can "cover" your cut outs with a new 2D object and use Modify>Add Surface.
  14. I believe that this is a "feature" of the 3DM exporter, all objects on 1 layer. You can turn off all but the current layer, Export, and then import each file into Rhino with the layer structure you need.
  15. For those of us without C4D or Maya, what are you looking for? I prefer to use the Flyover tool with the second (Interactive Origin Mode) with some increased sensitivity. If I set the Flyover Tool that way, those settings are "Sticky" and remain when I use the (CTRL+ middle mouse button) temporary flyover tool.
