  1. Yep, switching between apps is a trigger for sure. I'm seeing that having no other applications open in the background seems to be helping. I have a 3D modeler that if launched, VW will crash the system on launch, especially of I switch back-and-forth. It also is more frequent if I'm working in 3D in VW.
  2. Thanks 1M stayathomedad! This with all the new tool icons was driving me nuts! Don't know how I missed the OS update.
  3. An established 3D rendering and visualization service is looking for a talented person who is proficient with the 3D functions of Vectorworks. This person must have knowledge of contemporary construction techniques and be able to efficiently create organized wireframes of structures and sites. This is a freelance position and working remotely is acceptable. We are interested in a long-term relationship and we pay fees upon completion of the work. Send credentials and one sample (less than 20 MB) of a 3D VWX file to the address below. We will be looking at file organization and the use of the resource manager. hr(at)prevision3.com Review of interest parties will preVision 3D is a Better Business Bureau A+ rated commercial 3D rendering and visualization corporation established in 2004. 4. Yes, very slow screen redraws and this is a noticeable diff. from V2010. Particularly this is with showing and hiding classes. Time for a coffee break if I show/hide several simultaneously. It just beach balls. (Sometimes I see the old Mac wrist watch first. That's a nice switch.) This is disappointing as I had to move back to 2010 to work with my files. -Tom Model Name: Mac Pro Model Identifier: MacPro3,1 Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz Number Of Processors: 2 Total Number Of Cores: 8 L2 Cache (per processor): 12 MB Memory: 10 GB Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Type: GPU Bus: PCIe Slot: Slot-1 PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 Type: GPU Bus: PCIe Slot: Slot-3 PCIe Lane Width: x4 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
  5. OK. It all pointed to bad fonts. In this case Graphite ATT that seemed to be the worst offender. Turns out I had a TON (dozens) of currupted fonts that I have been collecting over the years, just copying to new systems as I got them. Be warned folks, don't be a clepto with fonts, it will bite you when the deadlines are tightest!
  6. Have had similar, but not identical, error message I.D.s with the 800PS, and a variety of other errors, but no plots yet. OS9 still works great. Tried a number of ideas and utilities. (The script does not work.) Now looking at fonts as the cause of this. Still testing (between deadlines.) -TM
  7. Can't print from Vectorworks only (other apps OK) to 800PS plotter once I installed OS X. Now at release 10.2.8, with VW 9.5.3, using IP Printing to a lab from a remote office. Static IP. Sometimes get the error below. Other times jobs never make it to Print Center. "pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document =-8986" Prints fine when booted in OS 9. Prints small a sized jobs OK. Might be a font issue? Printed small jobs with system fonts, but won't with something like Graphite ATT. HP ignored my posts on their forum (I suppose 'cause it's a Mac.) Any suggestions? -Tom
