  1. The leaders on this plan say they are at 180,45 & 90 degrees but are skewing off from the X,Y coordinates.  I did rotate the plan to square up the home with X,Y.  I'm guessing its a setting.  I checked in Document and Vectorworks Preferences.  I checked in the Plant Style,  I looked under Plant Tag class in the OIP.  Callout tool is functioning as it should. What am I missing.

  2. I received a .tin file from a client which they got from their surveyor.  The surveyor left out a bunch of elevation points.  I'm unfamiliar with the TIN file.  What is it and what info could I get off it.  I will call the surveyor next to see if they accidentally turn off a layer or just did a C$#*y job.

  3. Ok here it is.  I had a Job lined out and when I went to close it the guy said I think we want stucco (in New England)Uggghhh.  So we went from SRW to Stucco.  I modified the plan to reflect a wall with footing below the frost line...I'm just looking to get a square foot estimate at this point.  If the client decides to go with it we will have sepcs done by an engineer if the client so chooses.  I just need to get this guy some info so he can estimate it so I can get the client a number.   So maybe I don't need to put it in the wall but need to give the guy something to put a number on.

  4. Ok so like many things here basic functions like curved walls with batters are difficult.  I have talked to many tech people who tell me that cad programs don't speak in curves...Well.  That would be the game changer.  Landscapes curve and twist and unless your fluent in 3d modeling its an issue.  But editing a contour line should be very simple.  Draw a new line, split tool, trim, compose, reshape and be able to give each vertex a z value (maybe possible I don't know how. Yet) should all seamlessly apply to basic grading.

  5. LOL at least it hasn't made things worse for me...Its just doing nothing.  I just looked at "Define by contours" I ran the command.  Control Z for sure...That made it way worse.  I'm sure both commands work but damned if I can figure it out.  Scratching my head...Modifying a contour should be really, really simple...No?  Re did the drape and it looks a bit better but the jink is still there.  I guess I'll be including that in the next training session.

  6. I have a drape over my site model.  The update site model give a funky jink in on of the contours so I went into edit site model-proposed contours-reshape-delete vertex mode.  I made my changes and hit Exit Proposed Site Model Contours.  The change does not save.  I went through the videos and can't see what I'm getting wrong.  What setting am I missing?  This has got to be really simple.

  7. Thanks Tom...I was in there a few times I must have just had it set wrong.  There will be other modifiers.  I have to put in some pathways that I'm going to attempt drape.  I have the modifiers on the site model layer with the site model.  I've also tried a custom set of layers.  But loe and behold I went through the layers communicating exercise again it just worked.  The file is doggin...taking up a bunch of memory and going slow.  I thought I had it cleaned up pretty well from the engineers...That's one thing I need to get ahold of.  Thanks again Tom!

  8. I just started developing this file and my site modifiers have seemingly stopped working.  They are set to Proposed on site model and modifiers.  Modifiers and are all set to communicate with a custom set of layers.  All are site dtm modifier class except my site model.  I have grade limits set.  The only thing I have done since the last project is to do the update to service pack 6.  Prior to that the modifiers were working as they should and I did a quick fakeup design and they are working on that.  I think I must have an obvious setting off but I can't find it.  Can anyone spot it?

  9. I am looking at some of the new features of the 2023 release which look good.  When I upgraded from 2021-2022...lets just say not a good move for me at my skill level.  I did it early in its release.  Who has upgraded to 2023 and what's your experience been with it.  What's the good and what's the not so good.  I'm specifically looking at the pathway tool will it handle tight curves with out wrinkling up the path in 3D.

  10. Yes I have done that.  The problem seems to exist in the items in my None class.  I think I may have narrowed it down to a tile pattern I made.  But now I want to know what causes the issue I'm having.  Mostly so I don't repeat it.  I will post it once I narrow it down.
