  1. Tops, Bottoms and caps need to have more control. Independent control for each component.
  2. About Grand Central and Open Cl: http://blogs.zdnet.com/storage/?p=334 http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2008/jul/17/news.computing
  3. Vw 2009 needs the video card for all those things you get on the screen: Preselection and snaps.
  4. No speed problems here.
  5. About this: Read this: "That too is a part of our next top goals. And we have licensed Siemens' D-Cubed software tools and are working on implementing advanced parametrics in the next version of Vectorworks after version 2009." from: http://www.architosh.com/features/2008/chatside/biplab_sarkar/080924__biplab_sarkar_1.html I think we will have many many good things in the near future!
  6. I'm not happy with the shortcut because you have to wait several seconds, maybe minutes, holding the keys. Annoying.
  7. Turned off: Cursor pre-selection indication. Feels better. Turned off; Zoom line thickness in Snap Lupe. I think Vw2008 is really a superior upgrade in stability and performance... Can't talk of PIO objects, for now.
  8. On mac I use command+. (period); A real Stop Render is a must have from long time.
  9. Installed Vw 2009: no problems at all.
  10. How is performing? Can I switch from Vw2008 without major bugs? Any response will be apreciated!
  11. Thanks Jeffrey... Now I fell secure to tell what I already understood, but wasn't sure enough!
  12. That's what I understand. Jeffrey: Sometimes I talk to individuals that uses revit or another Bim application. They talk about the lack of a database foundation inside Vw. An official argument in response to those users that are misinforming about the reality of Vectorworks, is really appreciated. That's why I asked... Sorry if you misunderstood, my english is not to good.
  13. Jeffrey, don't leave us alone, we can get real crazy  and produce "real unique" situations here... But what about the first question: Does Vw has a database foundation? Thanks...
  14. From Architosh. Interview with Dr. Biplab Sarkar: AFR: Last question. Your integration of FileMaker into Landmark is very elegant. It's beautiful. Why not work with a third-party FileMaker developer to tackle the cost estimation application? That way you don't have to go out and build cost estimation yourself? BS: That could be one way to do it. But we are looking at XML and the types of tools that have been built exchanging data via XML. AFR: Thank you Biplab Sarkar for talking to me.
  15. I asked about the extension becouse of IFC. IfcXML is supported in Vw. I Think that the "X" in the extension is related to the ifcXML specification.
  16. Has a database Foundation? Is the adoption of vwx extension about xml or other kind of technology? If yes, what implies? Maybe someone (maybe NNA), can bring light on those themes. These arguments are important to the understanding of Bim in Vw. Thanks in advance
  17. Eliminating paper CD's could happen, in time. It all depends in certain advances, not only in software's but hardware's. Maybe an "electronic paper" or something like that. There are many architectures today that requires 3d, for efficiently manage its conception and construction. Like the Chanel Mobile Art by Zaha. Which is, basically and digitally speaking, a piece of Nurbs. Same for the Nest from Herzog. Not always valid for the most common Architecture. Christian: I think, one of the most powerful features of Vw is the solid modeler, and the abilities of attach records to it + classes. Those features let you make any object an Information Container, full of geometry from the Modeling engine, and graphics attributes from the classes. I think that's one of the things people does not understand, not necessarily you, about Vw.
  18. Interesting!!! Shame about synchronous technology, too. Happy about D-Cube From Wikipedia: "There are six D-Cubed Components, predominantly used to support the development of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) applications, including NX and Solid Edge from Siemens PLM Software. The functionality supported includes geometric constraint solving, variational design, parametric design, motion simulation, collision detection and clearance computations, and hidden line removal." In red are foundations for many wishes of all.

  20. That's interesting! Mike, please! ?Can you post some images of the symbols parts?
  21. I think it's an excelent vision of the software http://www.computerworks.de/VectorWorks.vectorworks.0.html
  22. The snapping in Vw 2009 is another history. Is precise and intellingent, it's a neat update to a feature that had several years without one. Once you use it, you don't want to return to Vw 2008.
