  1. I get those results every day i work with nurbs curve. I think The people of NMS, must solve this. If we want to obtain good results in wireframe renderings and hidden line renderings.
  2. The client software is included on os X Tiger. The server not. If you want to start a x grid you'll need one machine with os X server and the application (VW in our situation) must run on Terminal, to performs some unix commands. I don't think VW supports this yet...but i think it's a possible upgrade. Sorry for my english [ 08-31-2005, 03:40 PM: Message edited by: RHF ]
  3. Check in what rersolution does the monitor support. You can have the same screen size with different resolutions suport. The 30' lcd its magnifficent for site plans.
  4. Jim: Smothing angle it's an option in "line render options", that helps removing the lines. The smothing angle refer to the angle between two planes that forms an edge, if the angle formed is inside the range specified by the smothing angle , then is removed by the hidden line rendering. 5. Your solution it's to make a hidden line rendering with an smothing angle. I use 30 degrees. You can use it on a viewport, or try convert copy to lines. [ 07-18-2005, 09:01 AM: Message edited by: RHF ]
  6. When offsetting a polyline i got this: SIOUX (window): Message: Error in computeVD (aborting computation) -- to many restarts. I can do i workaround, but i think offset errors with polylines must end. Productivity errors must end. You hear NNA.
  7. take a look and see if you're pressing the working plane (ijk) option on the object info palette, before changing the coordinates of the 3d locus.
  8. Why you don't use patters in combination with colors? When you set the prefs to B/W you have dots, instead of a solid white. The first six patterns next to the black could help, because they can be considered as densities of gray.
  9. Use comand+tab to change aplication using the bar that appears on your screen. Go to finder and then go to VW. It happened to me many times and that's my solution. I think it's something between vw and the os.
  10. On Vw 11 there is no slowdown. No itunes Slowdown. It runs smooth and clean. My archives are about 30-50mb. imac g4 - 800mhz 768mb 10.3.5 VW 11
  11. I think you should check your system. I had an imac 500 g3 machins running with only 256mb on panther a it works fine. I use it now on an imac g4 an it performs really well. The only problem i found it's when i use itunes at the same time, i have to restart to use vectorwork. I always have the retain rendering model option as never. The 3d and 2d conversion resolution on medium.
  12. Yes, I have tested it. Recomendation: Buy a Macintosh!!!
  13. Katie we are speaking the same, in our relatives ways.
  14. Set Origin---> To drawing center. After importing. The import dxf move page to where the drawing is, whithout changing the origin. People on autocad sometimes don't set the origin, and they draw one drawing alongside other drawing.
  15. Maybe it can have the option of move handles only in x or y direction. Like the 3d reshape have on nurbs.
  16. Vectorworks preferences--> Edit --> Auto Join Walls (deselect it) [ 08-04-2004, 02:22 PM: Message edited by: RHF ]
  17. I had notice that it you use i tunes vw suffers a slowdown on selecting objects until a restart.
  18. The problems on the pc don't radicate only on the hardware, the problem it's the software. The stability of the os. I used both platforms with very similar specifications and the memory management it's better on panther. Now i experienced a dual 2.0 g5 and the velocity on renders (renderworks 11 and cinema 4d) it's realy fast, more than any pc i ever seen.
  19. Offset with a clean polyline, YES!!!!!! The 2d conversion resolution (and 3d conversion resolution) have to be a number. I remember it was that way before.
  20. I have a dual G5 a 2ghz, and nothing of that happens.
  21. I want that on VW. Don't you think?... [ 07-23-2004, 08:49 PM: Message edited by: RHF ]
  22. Does it happens with extrudes rectangles, circles? It happens to me with those obejcts. If I convert it to polylines or polygons before the extrude, they render ok. I think it's a bug...
