  1. I notice, that too. I had a model where i needed to cross some beams. We are trying no to use the hybrid concept of work, we are making pure models (3d only), and make plans, section and elevation from it. In that case we need a model as good as posiblel, we don't want that kind of errors.
  2. I' didn't use walls on a project because of this bug. I think it's a minor bug, that can be solve easily, hope NNA pay attention to this...
  3. Well, thanks...i think all of us (like you) want a better tool that make our ideas come to life. This is our contribution, by the moment.
  4. All of these wishes are a recopilation of some ideas from some users of VW, that think it's a marvelous software that can be better: 1. Depth in the lines of section viewports. The thicknesses of lines can be changed according to the distance. At the moment when in section viewport you change to ?use attributes of original objects?, is not possible to use a valid class for the background of the section (I believe this is a bug), this would have to work correctly. 2. System of visualization in form of ?Tree? for sheet layers. Example.: Document - > Folder (Architectural, Esteructural, Electrical...) - > Sheet Layers - > Viewports. This can be integrated to the Navigation Palette and the Organization Window. 3. A ?navigator? that indicates the level of zoom in which one is and the area on the page. Like the one of Photoshop and Archicad. 4. Like Option: Simplification of the doors and windows a single class for all its components. Thus as a easy and less complex handling for doors and windows schedules. 5. 2d reshape: The ability to select multiple points with an object underneath. Like when we use shift key when selecting with window mode if we are over an object with fill. Also the possibility of selecting with 2d reshape successive points using shift and click. 5.1 Extensive functionality of 2d reshape to 3d reshape. Perhaps a single reshape tool must exist, and a more intelligent one. Something like ?2d/3d reshape tool?. Like the actual Mirror Tool. 6. An object: Nurbs Volume, in different categories: of spherical origin, cubical origin.. 7. In the arcs objects: to be able to modify its "length of arc", through Object Info and fixating one of the endpoints or the center (like the line object). 8. Better snaps.: In 2d, in arcs and curves (multiple divisions working on both). In 3d, snaps equals in performance the one that exists in 2d. For example: ?extension lines?, ?edges?, and a ?Datum XYZ.? 9. Associative dimensions within the Viewports. 10. Rectangles supporting 2d reshape without having to apply a ?convert to polygons?. 11. Different types of arrowheads in a same object. Arrow on one side and circle on another one (for example). 12. DTM: When we concern the points through ?survey input?, we pruned to assign ?stakes objects?, that represents a tree, a predetermined symbol ("replace" in object info or use symbol instead of stake). In the case of a edification silhouette: draws up a polygon that unites those points. 13. Poly Clip Tool. 14. When sectioning ?walls?, ?floors?, also ?hardscapes?, through ?section viewport "? contains components, would be good if this could be obtained with basic elements: walls, pavements, slabs, beams and columns. 15. Autoupdate to all the elements that need it. For example Data stamp. 16. The Sections, through ?Section Viewport?, must be more integrated to the 3d model. The ability to change elements without having to go through designs layers, from the same section, at least for the parametric objects, walls, floors, hardscapes, columns? etc. 17. In the ?Section Viewports? must exist the option of ?project 2d objects?, as well as that in the symbols and parametric objects have the possibility of turn on/off certain types of information in the Section Viewports and Viewports, for example a symbol can contain several elements to be shown in different displays modes.   6. I have no doubts about what you describe. I am VW trainer, here in my country, and the idea came acrros in a discussion with a student: we try to define how flexible can be the current organizational structure in VW. And we found that it's names are not complete, they don't represent the deep potential that they have. In those discussion we found that VW is a powerfull tool to generate complex architecture, complex shapes, and can be easily controled, and have a very contemporary aproach in it's structure, but some names do not represent that reality. I think VW it's more powerfull in it's posibilities. In your aproach i think it's true, layers can contain stories. But that's a flat way to understand it, becouse it's limits can be transgressed. Then you can think of it like a container of space more than a story. It is an adaptative aproach depending on the way you conceive a project. People really don't understand that, they only think of it like autocad layers, something to put things, not something that you conceive united to the way the building is as a whole.
  7. Maybe it's no clear the concept of the differents organizational elements that functions on VW. This is an humble idea: classes: are ok, the name is perfectly it's concept design layer: i think of it like a container, it holds space or volume, they really are space not thinner things like layers. I'll call it something like "Design Container". sheet layers: they document the design. They are like pieces of paper, containig pieces of drawings (viewports and s-viewports). I'll name it without the word layer. Simple as Sheets. These are not wishes. I'll like to hear opinions. Maybe these idea can contribute more if we open it for discussion. Maybe it can define in a better way the manner in wich some people, like me, is working on VW. Thanks in advance.
  8. The probem it's here. Power Mac g5 dual 1.8. 2gb ram. VW12.0.1. OS 10.4.5.
  9. It affects the prints too. The problem of angled lines has been solved.
  10. Ok i found something. When you use the 2d reshape there is no problem. But if you use first the lasso or box option with the 2d reshape, then it does not work anymore without click and grag. I think it's a bug.
  11. 1. For Separate object. Maybe in the obj info palette. (3d conv.) 2. A number instead of low-medium-high-vhigh. (3d conv.) 3.   12. Thanks for you response. I'm using a mighty mouse, maybe it's that. I have two machines with the same problem. One is using Vw12 Os X 10.4.3, the other is using OS X 10.4.3 Server, and it's the same for both. Thanks propstuff.
  13. I refer to the 2d reshape tool. Not the preferences for all the tools. 2d Reshape, for polygons an polylines. I f you see on VW 11.5 when you reshape you only make a click on a point a nothing more, now you have to click and drag. Anyway Thanks. [ 12-05-2005, 04:12 AM: Message edited by: Mr. Gog ]
  14. Now the 2d reshape only works with click and drag. On VW 11.5 it wasn't that way, and was less difficult to reshape a 2d object using the data bar. It will be nice if we get that option again, and also with the lasso and box mode. RHF VW 12 Dual G5, OS 10.4.3 sorry for my english

  17. Shift+scroll=Horizontal pan Option+scroll=Vertical pan hope it works.
  18. What does revit it's what vw does on standard viewports, and i think with sections viewports is the same.
  19. I think this live sections it's the best i ever see. Every plan that we make in our office come up from a 3d model. If you want to understand the big potential in production of the live sections you have to know how to develop a project in 3d, wich is the basis of all this.   20. Haich: Have you ever used the alt angle in the constraints palette? It works fine for me, with large projects and differents angles it's really powerfull.
  21. I didn't had any problems with the upgrade. 10.4.2/G5 1.8 Dual.
