  1. Maybe you could assign the menu command to your object sensitive contextual menu? Select the objects, right click and select? Might be fractionally quicker than moving mouse up to the bar.
  2. GREAT STUFF. A little thicker on the back/armrest and maybe get the seams in there.......ha!😁 This is a tough one. I see why the mfr. doesn't offer models. Seriously, probably somewhere in between?: https://www.dwr.com/living-lounge-chairs/lína-swivel-chair/2514017.html Maybe you've been here already? Thanks for the eye candy.
  3. Yes it is round on the bottom and I think the upper/outer rim you have is actually softer, maybe radiused an inch or so? Indeed finding and selecting or creating the correct points to move, THAT is the main issue. Thanks for the tips. When I find some time I may venture forth but right now I am one of the lucky ones with decent work from home. Bradley
  4. Nice work! Looks great rjtiedeman. Once i can find a week to work through the subdivision maze, I might give it a try. Right now, that is beyond my ken. Looks real nice.
  5. I tried that bcd but it just stretches everything out. The sphere sounds too distorting? Here's a screen video of a problem I am having with one of the panos. all the rest map the entire cylinder. Untitled 2.mov
  6. No. I am not as concerned with resolution at this point as I am with sizing the image...such that it looks correctly proportioned from at least SOMEWHERE. Changing the cylinder diameter distorts outward or inward depending and changing the wall ht. requires changes in texture scale. I would think more architects would be interested in using this technique or one like it to present to clients...such that the principles or processes would already be worked out. Life's tough on the cutting edge, 😀 Thanks all, bc
  7. The images are somewhere in the realm of 48 MB each. DNG converted to TIFFs. Should be plenty no?
  8. HERE'S A VIDEO. THANKS Screen_Recording.mov
  9. Thanks Kevin, I need some time to gather my screen shots and construct a reply. bc
  10. Thanks for that BCD. I will try that as well. My issues are with creating the texture, sizing the image to fit. I have created a texture with the panorama but it's not working really well having to scale up towards 5000 and now the resolution sucks. I see you're scaled at 2000...and the resolution seems pretty good. bc
  11. I guess I don't know how to map an image to a wall if it isn't a texture.
  12. Thanks kevin. Yes you are correct in what I want to achieve. I'll try the wall idea. sounds promising. How would the image background work for the "surround". Would it create a sphere? That would distort in wo directions would it not? bc
  13. I have created several 360º flat site panoramas in the jpg format. I want to apply these to cylinders so I can produce an effect of the view from a bedroom with 360 potential. My first thought was to create a texture out of the panos and then apply it to the cylinder so that when the cylinder is placed properly the view from inside closely approximates what it will be. I have done this with planes before but this cylinder thing is tricky and the texture creatred is not very big. Can anyone help with a workflow for this puzzle? Thanks Bradley
  14. Isn't the problem that the plug-in is currently obsolete, either with regard to VW 2019-2020 or to the fact that it is not current with Velux models?
  15. So I did email Jerry directly and here is his reply. He either didn't get the thrust of this or it doesn't concern him. He merely states what is and not what may or may not be intended : Currently, the only Vectorworks files we offer at VELUX America, are for our VMS VELUX Modular Skylights. https://www.veluxusa.com/professional/products/modular-skylights/cad-bim With kind regards, Jerry Haynes Skylight – Global Product Management Phone: 864-941-5016 . 16. So I contacted Velux and this is what I got back: Hi Bradley, I reached out to a colleague and this was the response I received: As I understand, Vector Works has an “Add/Import Dxf/Dwg” function that would allow use of our .dxf and .dwg CAD files. We have skylight models, as Revit .rfa family files, but I do not know if they can be imported into Vector Works’ BIM program. If you have additional questions and would like to email him, please send those inquiries to: jerry.haynes@velux.com With kind regards, VELUX America LLC Business Services www.veluxusa.com Sounds like they have abandoned our format, indeed.
  17. There are legacy commands I use occasionally: Cut 2D Section Cut 3D Section They can be found by going to TOOLS>WORKSPACE EDITOR>EDIT CURRENT WORKSPACE and adding the two menu commands to your View menu. With these commands you can cut sections that will reside on Design Layers where you can draft over them. Play with these a bit and see if either of these helps. bc
  18. Nice work BCD! Thank you! I will be taking this approach. NIce and simple. And nice try Peter, thanks for trying it out and offering your method. Way further than I got. bc
  19. See the attached shot of a door with sidelights. Notice the frame and muntins are seemingly multi-surfaced as if there are two surfaces fighting for recognition by the OpenGL render mode. How do I get rid of this? Thanks bc edit: I notice that if I turn off Include Muntins, they go away and I am left with just the sidelight frame. so apparently when muntins are applied VW also reapplies the frame and hence the conflict. Why would the frame be re-added? You are specifying muntins.
  20. I think I found the issue. Go to Settings in the OIP In the 3d Visualization dialog under the bottom 3D Detail Levels, uncheck all the ones that are adjacent to "Show leaf as solid".
  21. Wes, it seems to be posted above.
  22. bc

    Site Modelling

Try going to Site Model Settings in the OIP. In the 3d Display dialog uncheck Show Skirt.
  23. FWIW, today one can fit to objects on the same layer.
  24. Perhaps your rail and style widths need specifying. Go to Settings in the OIP and in the Leaf dialog, size the appropriate members.
