  1. do the Texture Bed have to be planar? O can they be a warped 3D poly? I'll have to check it out, thanks
  2. Thanks Jeff but I only have Architect which doesn't include the landscape tool set.
  3. So how does VW define "surface" of a site model? Here's a problem I run into a lot so I am hoping it is just me and someone has an answer or a VectorworksAround. It the instance shown I wanted to represent a gravel path at grade so in plan I draw the path shape and then exec. the send to surface command. So VW seems to get it 90% but somehow there is always some hump of site model protruding. The path shown is actually raised up 1 inch but still shows dirt. Is this just the status quo or is there some workaround? Thanks Bradley
  4. Yes thanks Pat, exactly what I feared. 😁 I was hoping for a simple bending motion that would maintain all of the vertices I had in order to have a really smooth inside curve. So I DID simplify my vertices and it left me with a total of 36 which I lowered incrementally in sequence via the OIP. Site modeling is a bugger....and this is a tough site.
  5. Yes, thank you. I was aware of that command/proceedure. I just don't know how to actually model that shape. I don't know how to warp it in the manor I described.
  6. See attached screen movie Screen Recording 2022-02-24 at 5.09.56 PM.mov
  7. I don't know what you guys are talking about. What does this mean, please?
  8. Thank you very much Tom W. That was a good explanation. I was not aware of this. Has this been around since roof components or is it just in version 2021?
  9. Hello, could either of you please elaborate on this process? Thanks
  10. Thanks I’ll check that out.
  11. Thanks for that suggestion station. Could you elaborate on the process, please? Just put in a crop and they move to the crop border?
  12. THANKS FOR THAT TOM!
  13. So returning to this, is there a way to have a gapped grid line like a gapped section line? I have found the preference to have the bubble on both ends of the line but the line is solid through which I don't want in this instance. Given that there is not this option, is there a way to have two grid lines with the same number (other than creating my own from line/circle/text)?
  14. I figured it out. Reshape them.
  15. Just getting into these now. I have placed a few grid bubbles (using the new grid line tool) in plan on their own layer an in their own class. I have them showing on their relevant elevations but they are locked in position and can't be adjusted. How do I unlock them? They are in the middle of my mid-century! Thanks.
  16. Hello All, So we have a new VW 2022. Not a lot of WOWs on this community board. And with this latest iteration comes a new Stair Tool. We’ve been asking since….. Correction: a newly ADAPTED old stair tool. I mean really? The poly line creation process and the pushing/pulling to resize is good but one can’t go up, turn left, and then turn right…..error message. And the rest is the same tedious dialog leading to the same misshapen stringers and handrails. I would like to know the answer to a few questions I have. 1. Is this a mere appeasement…something to tide us over until they completely rewrite the entire program? Highway officials have concluded that motorist have a high degree of driving patience within construction zones because they know something better is on the horizon. Give us a clue, please. Road Map needs elaboration. 2. Similarly, is it because of programming/code problems or is it simply due to the money that VW can’t do this? Archicad did it (a near grand slam home run). Did they have to rewrite their entire application? Or did they just put people on it. If the current code won’t allow progress, just say so and I will quit griping and continue modeling. But if not, then what? 3. I really wonder how much it would cost to put together a stair tool team, maybe take a year or whatever and hit a VW home run. I think a lot of us would pay separately more for this even if it was an add-on. Create a comprehensive stand-alone product. Similar to Interiorcad. How much would it cost? I wish somebody would. What would it take? $100,000? $1,000,000? They could bill all the users who want it, a one time surcharge to cover the up front expenses. So for example, 5,000 users who are willing could pay an additional 200 bucks one time only. Or whatever it metes out to. I’d pay. I think others would too. Not bloody likely, huh? I once suggested to Julian Carr (Ozcad developer) that he create a Stair Tool and he said no way. Too internationally complex for him to want to bother. bc
  17. Maybe try giving the roof a texture with transparency via the resource manager or change it's fill to a percentage less than 100% in the attributes palette? Not sure what you're trying to achieve. If solid is what you're really after, Taoist seems to have it.
  18. The railing alien has landed. Surrender now. Resistance is futile. Model it.
  19. Yes it is common for most road maps. But still it is not a good reference for the roll-out. We will be getting "themes" presented in videos. I can hear the music now.....
  20. Thank you for answering my question. I presume that by "soon" you mean the Sept. roll-out?
  21. When creating multiple viewports, can we have a dialog similar to the create section viewport command? Say what sheet layer, create drawing label, etc. Similarly, when viewport selected down at the bottom of the OIP can we have a spec bubble like "Elevation Marker Instances" where we can determine what plans we want to have them showing....like with the "Section Line Instances" for Section Viewports.
  22. So it will be "available" . As in free for the purchase price or are we purchasing this separately?
  23. Thanks for the clarification. That's good news.
  24. Indeed, Christiaan I too work with the Custom Sash and agree on the need for an "update". Never mind regional specifics, shall we discuss simple sill creation? I guess then I just don't see what the big deal is re. the acquisition for the majority of VW users. I DO congratulate Julian and feel good for his new direction/relationship. He deserves kudos for his past efforts.
