I did not found the node for placing part3d of interiorcad. U know where it is or how ist IS named? What U would do instead of sorting Them ans get the surface boundary for making Part 3d? The task is, Putting existing geometry on the CNC machine. Before i Started this Job i could Not Imagine, that with vektorworks it is so complicated Putting imported 3d geometrY Into CNC Code and i never thought that unparametrical modelling exists. Thx so far Then. Maybe i will get an additional different Software for me to do the stuff VW cant do.

Hi Marionettes 🙂 is it possible to get some Marionette which does the stuff in the title? I can´t do this by Hand, because there are app. hundreds of pieces from a parasolid file (which are non ineriorcad 3D-parts) and i Need to get them onto my machine. So i Need to "extract" the Surface (out of the modelling tools) and turn the Output (poly) into a 3D-part. By hand this is really slow and annoying, if u got hundreds of solids u have to machine. So i think, if i can imagine a Marionette, which , sort them by thickness, rotate them all in the following way-> that the Main-Surface of the pieces are in the same "Level Z=0" then get the "extract tool" of the top Surface into a poly and made 3D-Parts for interior cad. (the last step is possible to do it manually, because i can select multiple polys and using the flash-tool-3D-part for making multiple 3D-parts with one click) BR KC PS: applying the Name of the parasolid-volumes onto the polys or the 3D parts (if it is poss to make this 3D-part-interiorcad command by marionette) would be a nice plus.

What does that means? Is it possible to use the 3D-part Interiorcad in a Marionette or not? Is there any tutorial for implementing it into Marionette? br KC

I need Input to Draw Something Like the assembly in the Pictures in the Attachment with just drawin a polyLine. Drawing polyline and waiting the Counter get Drawn by itself. This was Made by me with topsolid Wood. IT iS ready for Rendering AND machining after i Made the polyline and fully parametrical dir adjusting all you have to adjust. I used App. 100 Parameters and the deepest structure gots 8 sublevels of assemblies. IT took me a few month but IT contains dozents of subvariants and different Fronts and Glasssystems. So the Sales people can offer the stuff right at their First Meeting with the customer. Even the cleaning Personal could Draw a Counter with that Tool. I Hope i dont cry, If i cant code it with VW. 😉

IT would really fasten my learning Speed, If i can get the vs or Python Code of those Tools. But hey, OK.

IT Changes the Texture of the volumes If i manipulate the geometry with my Parameters.

If there will be one only 1 object (composed Polyline out of single lines) it will stay 1 2D-object, even if i marked on "Group"? That ist fantastic, because i think then VW can use my parametric Marionette path and my parametric Marionette Profil as a valid geometry for a path extrude? I thought it must be a Group, because i marked on "Group" but hey, this is fine. @DomC Maybe Dob talked About blue Symbols, sorry then. Until now i am not able to make some PIO, because i get no Manual or Training Video or pdf for making those. The interiorcad support great, but they too busy and my Questions are too specific, that they cant help me with that stuff.

Maybe Wrap the Script and right click "Change to object node" Then U can save IT AS a Symbol so or similar.

IT sounds that U used topsolid before, urstanner and now u r Missing the parametrical modelling with just typing "h1=100" to what ever a measure U Type in and the objects which connected to IT all getting parametric

Hi there, Some Tutorial about how use nodes to place Symbols and Change IT with other Symbols and linking the Parameters Into this Red Symbols would be fine. 🙂

I need Help to make such Plugins, are there some Special Vida or Manuals? I used the Pluginmenü and create one, but i still dont Know how to "Open them" and place some objects Into the Plugin. I only succeed with making the Icon in Paint. ^^ I Markef path based, because i tried To make some Part which ist placed Like the "Wall Tool" click + hold + move Mouse + Release Mouse. Has to be all Made with Marionette, what is INSIDE those "pluginobjects" or can i Open them Like a Symbol and add some geometry?

Is this parametrically modelling possible too with interiorcad parts 3d or Drill 3d ?

Hi, I got a VW Training Last Week and i Made the easy starting Marionette. Was a Tablet with 4 legs (extruded squares) + a tableplate. All was parametrically even the Texture of legs and plate was changeable in the wrapped Thing and i saved IT to a Red Symbol. I placed it, and i was verY lucky, But after i modified the Texture and then the Table Dimensions the Texture of the modified Part (Leg or Table) warped around my Ressource Manager each time in changed some Parameter.

Same or similar stuff i think about, because need parametrical 2d geometry (think i need a wrapped Marionette for each pline.) AS a Profil and parametrical path but i dont think IT will works, because as far AS i know, the result of a Red Symbol will BE a group and VW needs a 2d objects for both, Profil and path.

But how to Link Something (Lines, square etc) on other objects? @Wes Gardner U meant interiorcad slabs 3d will follow the Wall If i parametrically manipulate their posion in my file? That means for me i need some Kind of orthogonal helping construction (Wall f.e. 0.1 mm thick) to Hold the slaps between my parametric Walls? Especially If i will model a Counter with separate Segments between this helping Walls?

Hi there, I am verY New in vw and i am struggling with the Missing parametric Design while modelling some cabinets ans similar objects. In the past i used Solid works, Solid Edge and topsolid. Is IT possible, to add marionettes in the History of the modelling Makros from VW? Fe i make a Volume Subtraktion and Then i enter the Subtraktion and place a Marionette for moving the subtractor or the subtracted Volume somehow? BR kc

How i can let me Show the Python Code or vectorscript Code of the normal Program Makros? Is IT possible, to get the Codes of the predefined Makros f.e. Draw circle, Extrude, pathed Extrusion, or the interiorcad Makros 3d-piece? In freecad the Programm will Show the Makros in a seperate Windows If in want IT. BR kc

Hi there, i got some IFC data vom Yacht intrerior designer here, and i am struggling with some Problems. 1. All the objects got ifc data, but the export-interface out of SolidWorks put them onto the ifc-container, which includes the Group, the Symbol, the Group and the geometry. clear is, that if i break the upper Level (ifc object) Group it will remove all the ifc data. 2. the geometrical objects are hided in some group-structure with up to 4 Levels. So if i enter the upper Level of the containers (ifc object) and break the inner structure of the Groups down to the geometry, it is more easier for u to use this data. 3. If i finished one object, i colored it green to ensure, that i dont Forget some piuce. After the 2. piece i finished, i pipetted the optical Information (green fill color) onto the 2. one. with the following adjustments. The 2. one went green, but all ifc data of the 2. objects are now blown away? This is not good. What i am doing wrong, or is this a bug or software mistake? 4. Is it possible, to add the ifc data onto the last Level, where my geometry is, or how my solidworker has to Export the geometry that there are no containers and i only get the geometry with my ifc data? 5. The yachtdesigner uses solid works but his exportdialogue and his Exports has no structure what i Need in vectorworks. Is there some procedure, that he can Export it with real geometry without inner structure. Maybe some guys here have experience with importing ifc- data and so on. br KC
