Hi there, i am using die VGX Export for a while and now i notice, that there you can select those saved Views? but i cant select those, i made in vwx 2025? It would be EXTREMELY use fulfor Montage personnel and Customers using this tool, to select the in vwx defined presets in view/class/rendermode/Layer. There i could place all needed views for those ppl. It cant be the solution to configure all classes, camera angles and other stuff in this VGX-Viewer with no exact possibility to 90 ° on ll planes fe. BR KC

but i think u solved the centerpoint problem in the marionette object. i found a lot of "new nodes" for me in your network, thx. i am just a dinosaur knowing something about gw basic and turbo pascal, so i am not familiar with today programming 🙂 But idea of using marionettes to place stuff is really good for us, in topsolid its a thing of app. 5 min to make objects like this until all therew is parametric. so i am kind of addicted to have the things parametrical and i am whining a lot about this "dead object" vwx program, pls forgive me. 🙂 u made the rotation stuff not needed while inserting the symbol as u insert it, i tried this but somehow it did not work, so now i clean up your network for the "blue symbol" and then its great. maybe u can give me some general input about cleaning up such networks. i am ussing lists more and more and i know its the key solution to fast transparent networks, but in the "first try" networks i dont use them. -

ty very much. i used this blue symbols with marionettes, because of the behavior of red symbols, when u want to "edit them". It allways open the network-code and i am too stupid to do some other changes like "removing style". This style stuff is really annoying, when i use this marionettes in xg cabinets, because they seems only to work when they have no style. maybe u can give me some hints, why this is like it is. -

Hi Marissa, i had to texture a few thing so i did this ungroup thing, maybe i have to go another way for texturing stuff (but not the glass of the lamp) maybe my rotate and cline actions are not best choice, how i did this. it was only strange to me, that its working in the symbol and not in the marionette placing the symbols. thx a lot, this would be so great to make it work. Next thing, the cutouts in the floor/ceiling is not wrking well, because this items are not updated s the walls i think. i have to cutout the ceiling, where i placed the spots, but cutouts are not working when u place them with marionette, they are even not working if u place them in 3d perspective view as u see here. maybe u can ask your collegues, why this is not working, computerworks germany told me "the ceiling/floor" is not cabable of doing this like the walls are doing". i have to place those cutouts with a marionette, so this will be totally impossible, or u know a different way to have cutouts where i have my spots placed? br KC 2026-01-26 17-05-07.mp4 -
hi there, i made a spot which can be rotated and declined with parameters written in the marionette objects db. changing the texture is working also. Its working very well, if i use this symbol or marionette in the construction layers. But if i place this symbol in another marionette only for placing them with a control geometry (aat the centerpoints of a polygon) and config and filling the db records with the oip in the placing marionette, the rotating centerpoint is messed up. it seemes, that the rotating center point in the placement marionette is using the centerpoint of the rotation. In this case both centerpoints are not the same. But how this went wrong, when its working in the symbol?? I think it has something to do with global coordinates of the placing marionette? dont hesitate to fasten or repairing this small marionette. NExt step would be, "making holes in the floor/ceiling" under which those symbols are placed and switching the lightsource. Switching the light will be ez as the light is a black symbol, but making a hole to make it fit in the ceiling is not working somehow. br KC 2026-01-26 07-50-33.mp4 2026-01-26 07-53-49.mp4 spots.vwx

hi thx for the replies. rendering is doing well. the general performance of the interiorcad is our problem. the cabinets are too slow, sometimes it takes up to 30 s to refresh them EACH. The files are 300-1000 MB and i use referenced VWX files. The furniture-cabinets plugins and marionettes are the problem, in my opinion. i made some marionettes -> red symbols which i place in the boxes of the cabinets so they fit in there. only the project data is in the intranet/lan. the workgroup libraries we use are synced on local machines.

Hey, thanks but, yes, we are doing this with our project files. (else we would have 3 gb vwx files ultra slow) but in the interiorcadworld this is not possible. the cabinetmanager (a plugin for cabinets with cnc-interface) are importing the symbols i can apply in the boxes. This symbolsalat is making my brain explode 😮 now i am trying to workaround this by searching for a script copying the symbols in an open file into all vwx libraryfiles where same named symbols are existing to make the chance only 1 time. an additional complication is, that symbols with drillings or routingpaths hav to be blue ones to make the processes work.

Hey, after buying two different workstations (7 and 5 k Euro) with the hope the program will be faster we have now same speed probs like before. On an average mac the programm is still faster and more stable then with this machine here. and yes i configured it into "ultimate performance". Does anyone here knows, which processors, boards, workstations or else is best running with VWX? AMD or INtel? we put the windows swap file on ultra fast ssd but ... no better performace. Why there are some "intel efficieny kernels" and why VWX is using them, even if i told my system DONT USE THIS? I have here some HP Workstation. with each vendor is teeling me, this machine is x times better then the requirements are telling us, even guys from different brands then HP thinking this workstation was best in under 5 K euro 12 month ago. i cant explaine to my bosses another fail investition in hardware in x10.000 Euro without any feelable effect in working faster with vwx. We are using a synctrayzed workgroup-libraries local on all machines. This gave us some ultra dataspeed sure, but the hole program seems to be slow it up. After two years of recherche, i found nothing with processors or other devices (except mac) we can buy to have best possible perfomance. No one from VWX until yet is brave enough to tell me which devices i have to combine. We are making furniture with extragroups interiorcad for shops, supermarkets and private customers with high end rendering. MAybe some guys here work with windows and can tell me what we can do. Even to run the program in administrator mode, to avoid having trouble with some firewall permissions of the clients in the network are not fasten it up. this adminusage is not good, because the "local admin accounts" having not the same rights like the premade user accounts on our servers. Its like i am going to buy a new pc next year, but i dont know what kind of windows pc i have to buy for having best possible vwx performance. I am a poweruser (typing up to 450 cpm), using all possible shortcuts in VWX without clicking the mouse on any menu. I am the editor of the library files and i need some high-end-preformance with a windows VWX-Machine. Its not the solution to change the 3D program, we are to far forward with vwx now but i have no other clue then getting a new machine, to have it running faster. In addition new versions of VWX in the past had have more features, so they are running slower ? I have to wait here for some processes up to 30 seconds. There must be a solution where i can have one computer for under 10k € which is making the machine waits for me, not me wait for the machine. I hope there is somone who hears this and can dry my tears for wasted lifetime waiting for VWX beeing rdy for next input or calm me down because of "unexpected shutdowns of the program" make me enrage. ❤️ BR KC

hi there, we got huge problems with changings of symbols in the workgroup libraries. Often i have to modify existing symbols in some library files. Worst thing is, that VWX is copying all "sub"symbols into file where u have symbols which use this subsymbols. One bad thing is, that we got HUUUGE files on the server because all "sub"symbols existing in all files. The other thing is, that i have to replace all of this in all files if i have to modify. so i type in the symbols name into the search field in the ressourcemanager. What is the procedure here? do i have to open alle files where this symbol is existing to replace it? This is not possible, there are too many files and i tried to "drag and drop" the modified symbols into the library files. Sometimes its working, sometimes not. Could there be a script, overwriting the same named symbols of an opened file to all files in the workgroup library? It would thake weeks and i will forgot some if i do this by hand each time. Why the hell, VWX cannot be configurated that the symbols automatically can be referenced like other 3D cads do it? I am sure that i am not the only one struggling with this. br KC

maybe some engeneer can code an AI based tool, which is translating the spagetthicode of the wrapped networks into clear short code. this would fasten all stuff up AND you can use it as a command. I have some real complex networks with thousands of marionette nodes in wrappers, but they are too slow for using them in normal day.

is there any node, to get the angle of a point on an arc? i have this geometry arcs 800+2 mm radius , and i want to make some consoles for holding it, like u see in this straight version i need 2 parallel holders on this but i like to get the angle at a specific point on my arc-shaped geometry. like this, BR KC

aehm, this stuff is not working as expected. the wrapper and the network are working perfectly it is a composed poly out of 1 poly, 1 line and another poly then closed and extruded. all 3 got 1 point each other and its open, so i close poly it. the extrusion is solid all is good. then i object node it, and its flat like a piece of paper?? and if i make a group out of the marionette object, it is seperated in the 3 2d Elements i combined before. Does the compose node not working probperly in object nodes, so that vwx can extrude 3 2D objects? or what is the problem here? i need a solid in an object node i will make a red-blue symbol out of it to use it in the cabinet-generator of the extra group. hi, ich have some task here, there are 2 polygons, a red and a green one. and i need this polygons to morph, if i wan to have them larger. the rectangle u see is defined, and the polygons should fit into it, but the middle part should not be changed in its dimension. the upper right section (is horizontal) should lenghen if the rectangle is getting wider. the lower sections are 1 ° angled and should be lenghten if the rectangle is getting higher. How to do this with a marionette? i would place 2 2D-Symbols wich each polygon into my file and then grab them with marionette and morph. so i can place the marionette as a boxobject into extragroups cabinet. it will be some kind of glassparts for cooling counters, its for making them loose less cooling in the back area like this screen u see it. the runningwagons with all profiles i had rdy. they are placed behind cooling devices and i need them to morph automatically. the horizontal section will be "easy", i think i have to get the vertex node and then pick both points on the top left vertical line and move them to the left but the lower 1 ° angled section will be more tricky. i could moce them 1° downwards. but i think it can be done more easyli? is there a parallel-morph node? ok all marionette symbols has to be blue, i made them black for having them in the construktion layer and forgot 1 to make it blue again ^^
