  1. It would be a useful feature, in my opinion--so please add it to any suggestion box. On another issue regarding walls (while I'm thinking about it)--it would be useful if at walls with exposed ends (eg "fin" walls), that components could be made to wrap around the ends.
  2. Thanks for the responses to my original question, but I was asking whether you can (easily) convert pre-v.12 (unstyled) walls to styled--not replace them with other styled walls. Or do I have to recreate/style them all "from scratch?"
  3. Is there a simple way to do this? It would be helpful, especially when reusing walls created in older VW versions pre-styled walls.
  4. I would add that links would be exportable to layman-friendly formats (eg Word, Excel, etc), so that clients could review product specs, etc.
  5. Sorry for that last post....this message board interface is a bit unintuitive, imho. Anyway, what I want to say is that HP released a recent version of the 120 driver (v 2.3), dated 7?17?03. I have tried plotting a few times with it and so far the quit/corrupt problem has not happened......I am not letting down my guard, though. In the Read Me notes, they mention some application?specific fixes, but none involving VW. Maybe that is to be expected, since I suppose it is a relatively specialized program.
  6. quote: Originally posted by Julia Williams: I am creating a new post, as wivc and I (and cacamote) are apparently being ignored! I recently bought an hp designjet 120nr. I have installed the hp driver 2.2, under Mac OSX 10.2.6. My computer is not networked, the printer is connected to my computer via the USB port. I am using Vectorworks 10.1.2. VW quits without warning after printing (or even on a couple of occasions after simply sending for a print preview). It also sometimes (not always) corrupts the files. The message I get is "-39 end of file reached during read -FSREAD" and Vectorworks quits attempting to open the file. Obviously, I am now saving files to a separate back-up folder, and making copies of files before printing. Although less serious than corrupting files, the fact that VW keeps quitting all the time is costing much valuable time.
  7. I just bought a DesignJet 120nr with the HP driver v2.2, as well as VW10.1.2 and MacOS 10.2.6. There is a problem where often after printing, VW quits, and not only that often corrupts the file...not a good situation, obviously. HP did not have a clue, although my best hunch is that it may have something to do with my network i.e. it does not seem to happen with the computer directly connected to the printer. Nor does it seem to happen in OS9. See also the topic"vw 9x and hp designjet 100"....especially "cacamote"'s post which confirms the problem. Other than this, the printer is great.
  8. Sorry for that last non?post. What I wanted to say was that I have also experienced cacamote's problem about VW quitting and corrupting files as well. I am printing to a HP DesignJet 120nr with the driver 2.2, under OSX 10.2.6. I would add that I am running VW10.1.2 and it does not warn of any instability prior to crashing. Please help, it's one thing for an app to quit?but corrupting files is a whole different level of problem.
  9. quote: Originally posted by cacamote: Katie, under OSX the HPDJ100 works fine, but I found out its drivers can cause some kind of conflict wit VW10. After I print the application quits and it damages the file. When I try to open it again I get a message saing that the file is damage and the application quits again. Since VW is the only application that does this I guess there is some problem with it. Do you think updating the firmware on the plotter may fix this problem? I have had the plotter for a few weeks now and I didn't understand why the files I was working on where all damage. Now every time I want to print something I have to do a copy of the file and print the copy because I know it is going to get damage.
