  1. Before using viewports, we would create a new layer and convert the objects to lines. Doing that enabled us to change the line weight and color or specific lines (part lines for instance) so they would not look as heavy as the other lines. I use the Toggle Line Color command which turns everything black, but I miss the ability to select certain lines and lightening them up. Is there a way to do this using viewports? Thanks
  2. I want to add this stool to my furniture library, but I can't figure out how to draw the curved rail that wraps around it. Does anyone have a suggestion that does not involve drawing it in sections? Ideally I would like to extrude the profile along a nurb path, but I'm not sure that will work. Thanks - here's the link http://www.dwr.com/productdetail.cfm?id=1019
  3. OS 9.2 - we haven't had the time to upgrade to 10 yet - would that fix the problem or is there something we can do in the meantime?
  4. We recently upgraded to 10.5 and the preferences keep defaulting to the original settings - sound, conversion resolutions, etc. Any suggestions? It seems to happen randomly. Thanks.
  5. Yep - that's it. I figured it out - Thanks again!
  6. Whoah! That's perfect! Thanks man - much better than my solution. This tech board is great! I really appreciate your help and look forward to working with you again! Tyler
  7. Yes - but I think that would be more difficult - I just finished it using nurbs and the loft tool - it's not as clean as I'd like it to be, but it will do. Thanks for your suggestions. I've seen others attach images to their messages, but I couldn't fugure out how to do that, otherwise I'd show you. t. [ 06-04-2003, 10:30 AM: Message edited by: Tylerp ]
  8. Yes - that's what I was referring to when I mentioned sweeping the nurbs, then I would connect them with the loft tool, I just think it would take awhile. I guess I could have it done by now. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a quicker way to do it. Thanks anyway, T.
  9. Hello. I need to create a 10' high fabic funnel that is a 9' square on top that tapers down to a 6' dia circle at the base. The trick is that the sides need to curve in since it is a tensioned fabric structure. Any ideas on how to do this? Multiple extrude doesn't cut it and the only other thing I can think of would be to draw a polyline for the curve, convert it to nurbs, and sweep the nurb around the circle, but then i would have to stretch the top of each nurb to match the square, which could take forever. Thanks! Tyler
