Thank you for your hints. I tried both ways and up to now, I have to experiment a little if it is possible to scale hatches in different objects seperatly in one viewport. Maybe I have to change my workflow a little bit and make a lot of hatches. Anyway I think it would be nice to have just a doubleclick on any hatch and change it seperatly.

Hi Martin, I don't know if this helps but I also used esc. I programmed a button to doubleclick "xx" that works for me. Regards Uli

Hi, does anybody have a good idea how to make a simple and quick Scaling of hatches inside a Polygon. For example doubleclick the hatch and enter 200%. Up to now I try to use the hardscape tool of landmark but I was only able to rotate the hatch but not to skale it. The way to ungroup and trim is a little bit time-consuming. Hi, so here is my own solution. I lowerd the speed settings inside the Control Panel of SN. So it stopped the slight permanet move I think which caused a permenat signal I suppose. It works thats ok and I hope it will last. Thanks to everybody for the input. Regards Uli

Hi David, thank you, it seems to me that there are a lot oft unexpected and different problems and everybody is searching in a diffuse ambience without a concrete direction. What I find very strange is that if I click with the right mouse button on the SN Programm in the task bar anything in VW 2008 works fine at once, although the driver of SN is not stopped but cannot be used in VW 2008 anymore. Hi brudgers, thank you for your reply. Normaly I post only if I did not find any solution in the net, knowledgebase, forum or s.e. So if I missed something I would be very happy if you can lead me there. Another thing I noticed is, when I click with the right mouse button in zoom field VW 2008 starts to react but very very slow. I changed the USB port also but there was no different behaviour. So if there is any solution I missed please let me know. Thanks Uli

Hi, does anybody else have a Problem with Spacenavigator and VW 2008? When I start VW 2008 the programm hangs, but Spacenavigator works normaly i nside the programm. The currant zoom entry field is flickering and CPU load is up to 55%. Spacenavigator works in any other programm (Google). I tried different Firewall settings and anything else, all different drivers uninstalled, reinstalled and so on. Only when I stop the driver of Spacenavigator VW 2008 works normaly at once. In the device list Spacenavigator is not listed but different HIDs. It worked some time before but don't ask me when. I assume that it has something to do with the latest windows Fixes, with the ati drivers or with dual screen, but I don't know. I even tested old Ati drivers. Maybe I have to wait for VW 2010. Hi, Actually I am using Vectorworks Landmark 2008. What I am searching for, is the possibility to set the User origin in the X,Y,Z mode to any point of my drawing that I wish and construct further on from that point. For example, if I am standing in front of a house, I want the take the baseline of the entrance as the new x axis with a new 0,0,0 point and start the construction from that point, so even if the new user x axis is now rotated the new elements I want to construct are rotated automatically from now on. I hope you understand what I mean. I just want to work flexible from any point in the drawing with a free choosen coordinate system even if it is rotated according to any object inside the drawing. The problem for me is that I am used to that style from working with autocad - I click any object and from now on that is my coordinate system origin, that is realy fine, other things of the program you can discuss for hours. Can I do that with a rotated workplan? Up to now I searched any help but could not find a realy solution. If there is a different working style in VW that does the same job I can learn that. Hi, I am using vectorworks 10.5 and want to draw a grid with 20 rows but only one column. Up to know I was only able to draw a grid with 20 line but I get always 2 columns. 1. grid ractangle 2. properties 3. Width of grid f.e. 50 4. Height of grid f.e. 175 5. x Spacing 50 6. y Spacing 8,8 I can set x Spacing to any number I always get two columns. Can anybody tell me how I can get a grid with only one column. Hello, I searched some newsgroups and asked there and I called tech support but nobody could give me an answer. So I found also other user who have the same problem as I do? Would anybody be so kind maybe from the tech support to tell me what is the equivalent to the UCS in 2D in vectorworks. It is not my question if this tool is good or not I am just used to it and up to now I did not make any construction differnces between 2d and 3d. I just want to get into the construction methods of vectorworks. Are you workiung mostly with parametric constraints. I just want to set a ucs to any shape and start new constructions with x/y from that rotated Coordinate system. Thank you for any advice Ulrich

Hello, is it possible to rotate the coordinate system in 2D top/plan view. I want to rotate the coordinate system (x/y) and set a new origin 0/0. From this point I want to construct new shapes with relative coordinates. Up to now I found only two possibilities with the following problems: 1. I rotate the grid according to an existing line from whose endpoint I want to start a new construction as I mentioned above. I am getting the i and j field in the data display bar instead of x and y but I can't set the origin at the endpoint of the line to 0/0 until I push the g key on the keyboard or set the vectorworks preferences to "use floating datum". That is very nice but it keeps the 0/0 origin only for one click and the construction of the next klick of a line is then relative to the starting point and not to the origin I set before. 2. I use the feature "set up an alternate coordinate system in the constraints palette" but I get similar restrictions as listet above. Because I am used to work a lot with user defined coordinate systems in other cad programs this is very comfortable for my astil of working. I would be very happy if somebody can give me some help to set up a user defined coordinate system related to any object or point I want and the origin stays in place as long as I set a new one. I think I am looking for something like the working plane from the 3d enviroment in 2D. I hope my problems are understandable. I want to get into the vectorworks construction methodes but keep some of my former habits until I am used to new or better ones. Thank you very much for any advice. When I hold the mouse over the radio button of "Set Origin to Next Mouse Click" I get the following message in the bottom of the Set Origin Dialog Box "This option sets the origin (0,0) to the ground plane origin the internal VectorWorks origin." And when I move the mouse over the radio button "Set Origin to Drawing Center" I get the message "This option sets the coordinates (X,Y) of the next point selected moving the origin appropriately".
