Hi JC, I think that you should search for a plotter driver on the HP site and install it. Then you can print to a file and there I suppose you can print also into a plt file. I am not sure if that works on a mac. Normaly you use the plt for a printing studio or as exchange to technical offices but if you can tell for what purpose you need the plt it is maybe a little bit easer to help you. Uli

I am using VW 2010 Landmark and the dealing with cadastral data and aerial image is a pain. The program often stops working, when I want to select a lot of cadastral lines. The file has more than 50 MB. So I think it is not a strengh of VW to deal with this kind of date or file size? I have to search for a way to import and freeze these data. Is there a zoom history in VW 2010 oder 2011? Not the undo option.

Hi, I installed VW SP4 2010 and after the first screen I canceled the installation. When I want to start VW 2010 now the program quits after the first splash screen without entering the Name, Company, Serial No. and licence. I can't find VW 2010 even in the software system uninstall routine. Does anybody know how to get back a running VW? I reinstalled VW 2010 from the original disc but that doesn't help. Delete any pref file or something like that, but I can't find anything like that? Uli XP Home SP3 Before the update it was running fine.

Hi Ozzie, thanks for the reply. When I convert an object into a stipple, I always get the same default stipple. How do you select a stipple when you convert an existing i.E polyline. I always get the default one. What do you mean with "preferences set to Plug-in Parameters". I have an exiting stipple in the drawing and I drag one from the resource browser, but for me the eyedropper tool does not work, even if I set the existing stipple to the same shape type in the stipple settings dialog box. Hi, how do you change a stipple of an object? When I convert an object into a stipple, I always get the same default stipple and I do not know how I can change that default stipple before or during creation, how do you change a stipple of an object? The only thing I could do, is to create a new stipple; even the eyedropper does not work. Thanks

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply and the helpfull proposals. The only problem is, that I find it helpfull te see colours of Raster classes which I can't see if the Raster class is greyed and sometimes it is also helpfull if you have different colours in a class. Anyway a little lock would be just easy for me but not that urgent. Regards Uli

Is it possible to lock only one or more classes/layers and keep the normal visibilitiy?

VW crashed again when I want to edit the 2d Shape of a Plant symbol in the editor Window (change colour). I have an Ati grafic card with the latest driver.

I have a crash from time to time when I want to edit the 2d shape of the plant i.E. change front to back. But up to now I can not reproduce the crash but it has something to do with editing plant symbols. VW 2010 Landmark SP3 XP Pro

Thank you EC1, thank you Tamsin for the help. Tamsin I tried it that way, but the problem is, if I turn off the Plants-Components-Outline class I lose the outline of the other i.e. Single Plants. I think I have to experiment with different classes which I then turn off and on. Regards Uli PS. Your book is well written - good book.

I found this in the manual. "Edits to the 2D or 3D components immediately affect all instances of the symbol. Changes to the plant definition affect all future instances of the plant." So how do you works if you made some modifications, do you place the plants once again? I was not able to replace the plant when I make slight corrections in the Plant Definition i.e. change the Tick Style.

Does anybody know why I loose the fill colour when I check the box mass overlapping. When I edit the 2D Grafik in the editor window the fill colour is there and when I uncheck the mass overlapping box the fill colour is also there? I just want to have fill colour, if possible with shadows, and mass overlapping also.

How do you extract the contour from a drawn stipple area?

Hi, it is a georeferenced image and so I think, if the problem is not regular with normal images, it is maybe a problem with the far out x,y values. VW Landmark 2010 SP3 XP-Pro

Hi, I think everything is only a tool, same to VW and I think there is a lot of interesting IT stuff coming in the future (today IT design stoneage). Also I think that it depends what kind of job someone is working in because if he/she is a technician, than knowledge of IT is power, if he/she is a designer there is nothing he/she should be afraid of and any technical tool is welcome. Hi, Can I use the 3d xfrog plants (i.e front view) only if I have Renderworks? I tried to select the objects (in any view mode I get only lines?) and export them to Cinema 4d but I get the message no objects exported. Does anybody work with 3d plants without having renderworks?
