  1. This is not a VectorWorks 11 issue. The reason the file on your desktop is corrupted is because you put the machine to sleep without closing the file. Putting the machine to sleep with VectorWorks open will always cause VectorWorks to lose connectivity with the dongle. This is normal behaviour (sleep mode is low power mode). Before you put your computer into sleep mode make sure you quit VectorWorks and save your work. Jason...
  2. Whilst I'm pretty pleased about some of the new features in VectorWorks 11, I'd like to know if you intend to provide future updates for VectorWorks 10? 10.5.2 perhaps? When? I still have a number of reliability/functionality issues with 10 that should really be fixed before we even consider moving to version 11. Jason Turley IT Manager for Nicholas Hare Architects
  3. I understand that completely, but when I get 30 users coming to me complaining about things not working as they should - what am I meant to do? I have submitted the class issue as a bug and have been in contact with Mark Fiorucci who has been extremely helpful. What I and many others are after is some indication of when the updates will be available (1 week, 1 month). Is that to much to ask? Jason...
  4. Can any of the Admin members give us a rough idea when VectorWorks 10.5.2 update will be available? My users are getting frustrated with the number of bugs in the 10.5.1 and Panther combo - particually the nested class name bug! (which I hope will be fixed in the next update) Thanks Jason...
  5. Mark, thanks for the quick reply. Yes this was working in 10.5.0 and is now not working in 10.5.1b and 10.5.1 final. I must state it only applies to nested classes (class names with same prefix + hyphen). It looks like the size of font in the nested class has been changed to a much bigger font size, something like 14pt. I can send an example PDF showing the difference between the nested class names dialog in 10.5.0 and 10.5.1 if needed. Thanks Jason...
  6. This problem reared it's head in VW 10.5.1b and hasn't gone away in 10.5.1 final. I have posted a bug report to the nemetschek people but haven't heard any more. This is stopping me deploying the more stable 10.5.1 office wide because of such a trivial issue that nemetschek should have fixed by now. Katie, do you have any idea when 10.5.2 will be available and if this bug will be fixed? Jason...
  7. Sorry for the off topic post but can anyone recommend a decent A3 scanner that's Mac OS X compatible. We are architects and need to scan A3 hand marked up CAD drawings so don't need anything to fancy, but speed and interface is important. What are others using? Like the look of the Epson GT-15000 but doesn't appear to come with Mac drivers. Also MicroTek 9800XL but it seems a bit overkill for our needs. Thanks, Jason...
  8. My company is in the process of upgrading our existing G3 file server to the new dual 2GB Xserve G5. Would it possible to transfer our huge number of existing CAD drawings to the new file server and maintain the workgroup references, or will these have to be re-established once the information is transferred? Has anybody done something similar? what was the outcome? 9. I think something similar to the Loupe tool in Adobe Acrobat 6 Professional would be incredibly useful for moving around large detailed technical drawings. Jason...
  10. Mac OS 10.3.1, VW 10.5.1b Class names are truncated in the OI palette, making it difficult to apply classes to objects. I presume this is a bug with the pre-release version of VW 10.5.1b? Does anybody know of a workaound (apart from shortening class names)? Jason...
  11. AutoDesk are developing a DWF viewer for Mac OS X, not sure of the dates etc... but it's very interesting. Jason Turley
