Thank you for your reply, actually I needed a quick answer and I still have tech support by phone so I figured I would give that a shot too since I didn't know if anyone would actually get back to me (I've never used a bulletin board before) The problem was that during the import (the file was a .dxf import) some things didn't show up but still existed. Phone support had me do a select all then a fit to screen and I found that the object was aprox. 800' wide when it was supposed to be 60' wide this threw it clear outside the layer scale and Vectorworks would not let it scale. Anyhow thank you for your response apparently these things do work!
