  1. You've lost me. Is that user button in LW or VW?
  2. Thank You for listening, and addressing the issue promptly.
  3. If I hit the "X" to exit the program I get a crash error message. I didn't think much of it because I was closing the program anyway. Well today I was working on multiple drawings at the same time, and when I closed one of them the whole program went down. It does not crash when using the file/exit. This is on a W2k machine. When can we expect a patch? This is getting rediculous. I have other crashed at random, and I can not get a reportable pattern.
  4. PC I deleted Adobe Acrobat, and installed CUTEpdf. It works fine. But that doesn't explain what happened. Other people in my office are having trouble makein pdfs with 11.5.
  5. I have Adobe acrobat 6, and I use it often to create pdf's of drawings so clients can open them. Today I tried creating my first pdf since "upgrading", and I use the term loosely. Now when I create a pdf I get one giant blank page, or I get notepad opening with error messages. Now don't tell me this is adobe problem becasue it worked just fine in 11. Does anybody else have this problem?
  6. OK I'm working with a friend on this one. V11.01 was fine. Upgraded to 11.5, and now the same old dongle wants a new driver. We get an email from tech pointing us to the Alladin website where the new driver is available. Great only that it is not an executable program. You have to enter the commands via the command prompt. Are you kidding? Command Prompt! I stopped using commands with Windows 3.1 What's going on here? Why is Nemetschek not supporting their own product? How dare you send me to someone else for support for your product! And to make it even more laughable no one is answering the phone at Alladin's tech support line. So here we are needing to work, and we can't open 11.5 Hey is anybody from Nemetschek reading this? You should post a warning on your download page that this new version requires the new dongle driver, and that you need to be proficient in command line code to install it. Great job guys. Once again you've made difficult to use your product. -Mickey
  7. OK I installed VW11.01 on my home pc (something I've been trying to avoid) WinXP Athlon processor Nvidia Graphics The program litteraly won't stay open even long enough to click on a drop down menu. Something is extra fishy about this, because the first time I opened the program it stayed open long enough for me to change some of the preffernces, and move my pallettes to my second monitor. So I'm not going to work this Saturday night. Fine I'll go out drinking instead, but I'd like to get this resolved. Next time it could be crucial. -mickey
  8. I use the older version of this http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=2071&pcount=&Product_Id=157024 oooooo! do I love it. Recordable Keys, Custom macros, comfortable ergonomic design. I can draw for hours without ever touching my keyboard.
  9. Andy you've just changed my world. Thanks I guess it's time to start working my scripts.
  10. That's great. Where do you learn about those codes?
  11. I'm working on a large project, and there's a symbol in the object resource browser, and in my worksheet when I do a symbol count, but I can't find it. Is there a tool to find a symbol on a drawing? Seems easy enough. Help -Mickey
  12. I know of no way to set up the key before it lands on the plot. This would be a helpful feature. It's not totally random. It seems to use a symbol that has been used recently. I found that you can delete the symbol and drop in a new one of your choice.
  13. HOLY CRAP BATMAN! I didn't know you could do that. That's great. (Windows uses "Ctrl" key)
  14. This isn't perfect but it will work. For each of your shows that have additional equipment: Give the fixtures new symbols names. IE: S4 50? Show1, S4 50? Show 2 ect... You may end up with several names for the same fixture, but this way you can select what you want counted in the Generate Paperwork/Invetory Report Section. Your Key would show all the lights for all the shows so you would need to make copies, and edit each key so that you would only have one occurance of each fixture type. Does this make sense? -Mickey
  15. Example: I have a drawing with multiple layers and a couple of them have differnt scales. My 0,0 origin is in the lower left side of the screen. My print area is ANSI D. When I change the scale of a layer it stays at the 0,0 origin, but the print area is 4000' feet away. Very frustrating stuff. Help.
  16. hey dfekety, I work in the event business and to my knowledge there is not a database of symbols you describe. Your best bet is to create a template and draw one of each of the symbols you described, and update that template each time you change, modify or add a symbol. That's what I do. It' a lot of work up front, but pays huge in the long run. You can bust out a drawing using stock symbols in no time. Good luck. -mickey
  17. I was really gunshy as well, but 11.01 has been pretty good so far. I got burned real bad with 9 and never bought 10 at all. So 9 to 11 was a big jump, but it has been stable with no unexpected fatal crahses.
  18. So I've got a drawing open, and I decided to open the task manager, and check my memory usage in the processed tab, and sure enough the number keeps getting bigger. For me it only increases mememory when I do something like editing, or even exiting a group. I expect memory to spike when I'm working on something, but I also expect it to go back down. I'm going to dig around some more. Right now I'm working with a drawing that I importted from Illustrator. (don't ask).
  19. oh you crazy kids with your abbreviations.
  20. Sorry for being lame here, but I've read on several threads about PIO in reference to palletes, and objects, but I'm not getting the connection.
  21. Hey Glen, To complicate matters more: Why is the info reading incorrectly in the first place? I've done some experimenting. I have a symbol for which I created a label legend. (ETC S4 36?) That legend contains "circuit name" "circuit number" They both have circles as their container. When I place the "instrument" on the drawing the unit faces up (top of the monitor, and the circles are at the bottom. In object info I add "A" in the ciruit name, and "1" in circuit number, and they are in their appropriate circles. If I copy and paste they are in their appropriate circles. Here comes the winner. If I select, and mirror-duplicate they are reversed. I checked my File/Prference/VWPreferences/Display, and yes the box "adjust flipped text" is checked. I tried unchecking it and rechecking it, and still the info gets reversed when I mirror-duplicate. To correct this I select the individual unit and Tool/Rotate/Flip Horizontal, and the unit now reads correct. If I select more than one unit and flip they are treated like a group, and the whole thing gets flipped which is not the desired effect. This is a bug. What's happening is the circles are treated as graphic objects. The solution would be to halve a graphic object that could contain multiple data fields. Is that possible in Spotlight? Here's a little picture: http://www.hartmannstudios.com/images/flip.jpg
  22. I have had that happen, but I can't remember the details, and it was not a repeat incident.
  23. Yes everytime you guys release a new version I update my video driver.
  24. Not that it's killing me, but everytime I close the program I get a C++ runtime error. Why?
  25. I've created a cool 3d object. When I place the object in the 2D drawing, with other objects near it, and then switch to 3D it is no where near the other 3D objects in the drawing. What did I do wrong?
