OMG THANK YOU !!!

The Rosebrand integration is amazing.
I have worked with Peter, Bob and the gang for years
(Funny aside - My wife designed and I programmed their first commerce site years ago!!)
I'm loving the #3. Create archway for egress idea above.
Combined with the X for where curtains end.
What would be great for me - is to be able to mark where I NEED a split in the drape - and then have it create one.
Often we will have a long run - but need to add in a split for an emergency exit, catering access or some other "Behind the Scenes" need.
So it is not necessarily a "Archway" - but it is a point where we need to note an egress split in the drape.
As of now - I usually just draw a thick red line where I need it - but that does not show up on a report
Exciting times!

that is part of my "Being Crazy" ... LOL
As a workaround - I'm reserving the view over the old one.
1) Click Saved View
2) Redefine View
3) Save view with same name
works enough
-
That is what I am talking about - If I edit - it does not redefine the actual "View" - only the saved properties (Layers / Classes / etc ...) ... there used to be a "redefine" button (I think?) that would only change the actual VIEW (the what you were looking at)
???
-
Am I crazy - or is my option to "redefine" a saved view missing now in 2016 sp2 Mac ??
Thanks
-
Am I being a bit slow this morning - I can't seem to find the "Redefine" option anymore ????
on 2016 sp2 Mac ... ????

HI
I actually have the exact set-up you have depicted
When I try to get the SpaceNavigator to emulate what you show on the youtube - everything is pinned to the origin - so I can't make the 3d translations ;(
some other SpaceNavigator setting ?
ie. dominant?
You're set-up seems to work perfectly.
Would you be so kind as to export it from the 3d Connection Pref pane and post here? I feel that I must be missing something.
Maybe there is a VectorWorks a tool that must be active?
thanks

Thank you
Have you tried the CadMouse ?
-
Hello all ..
I see now that the 3dConnection CadMouse has support for OS X.
Wondering if anyone is using it successfully with 2016?
I have the SpaceNavigator as well - which is hit & miss.
I'm still trying to get a good configuration
(If anyone has one - love to import it!)
thanks

sorry Tim - just re-read my response - and it reads like it came from a guy tired at the end of the week!
Thank you for taking the time to answer

yeah - I saw this ..
but this has nothing to do with Theatrical / Events.
Looking for something that is a little more pertinent to the industry?

Hey Everyone ..
So realizing my sheet #'s are just sort of Random.
I use the
A-1, A-2, for major Groundplans
R-1, R-2 for Renderings
then it gets foggy
L-1 could be "L"obby or "L"unch !
Does anyone have a good system?
Would be great if we all used the same!
thanks

Have no idea why this is happening.
in OpenGL - they look great
in RenderWorks - they look bloated and aliased ???
Help please

Thank you all

Hello all -
Doing a job at the new Whitney Museum and am trying to recreate their curtain wall.
I'm pretty new to curtain walls - and have not found a good visual guide to the parameters.
Enclosed is a photo.
If anyone would be so kind as to point me towards the correct settings - it would be much appreciated.
Thank you

I'm having the same issue in 2015 SP3 ??

Found a great calculator here:
-
FYI all - via VectorWorks Support:
____
The rendering will get you close but it’s not exact.
We place the geometry at a distance from the light source and utilize the spread of the light to project the size.
Since the location of the gobo varies in the optical path of the real lighting fixture we can’t be 100% accurate.
We recommend to send the details to the gobo manufacturer and let them confirm the image size based on the fixture and the throw distances.

Hello all --
In need of some quick help.
I'm trying to line up a bunch of custom gobos on a wall that have a pattern.
I'm trying to show the client what that pattern will look like.
When I use the "Spotlight>Visualization>Create Gobo" Tool - it creates the Renderworks Texture ---
Is this texture photometrically accurate based upon the gobo file?
I have included a screenshot and the PNG.
The lights in question are about 34-44' from the wall
They will be vl4000
right now they are drawn in as Mac700s - because for some reason the VL symbol was not projecting gobos in RenderWorks.
Field / Beam angle is 35º all around.
Any help (especially quick help) appreciated !!
thank you

On the focus point tool, you have the option to choose a "Vertical Oval" - this places the plane perpendicular to the floor - I think this is what you are asking?
-
Duh - CadMouse not compatible with Mac
-
ugh - I just ordered the CADmouse - will report back in

I'm watching as well - and am incredibly appreciative.
Made it to Philly last year, but not Chicago this
Was going to as for the 3dConnnexion info as well! LOL
I'll try the settings located above; i've tried before without your success with that k-base article.
If you find yourself with an extra moment - could you export your settings and post?
I always read the "Attached to the bottom of this article you will find an exported configuration in case you would like to try exactly the settings we use here, they can be added via the Configure > Import Configuration menu option." and wish it was there !!
thank you
