  1. I run VW2019 on Mac.

When I alter a drawing with marks, text, whatever change I make doesn't appear, until I zoom out. Infuriating.

This is a new things as the system has run very well since purchase.

I'm thinking I need to reinstall the SW, but any ideas would be appreciated.

  2. I've seen a great looking plugin for downpipes (or downspouts) published by A|F Design - Andrea Facchinello andrea.fno@gmail.com

    The publishers instructions are

" Copy the files into your plug-ins folder:

    /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/VectorWorks/[version]/Plug-Ins "

On my MacBookPro that path doesn't end in a file named plugins but rather three files named Gobos, Library and Textures.

/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/VectorWorks2019/ Gobos or Library or textures.

I've never installed a plugin before and have NO IDEA what I am doing.

    Any help is appreciated.

Thanks @erminio for raising this important issue and thanks @Art V for offering a possible solution.

Fact is, this process should just be a simple, straightforward process and does not require VW users to come up with 'workarounds' to make it work.

We use Vectorworks in 3D, and there is NO POSSIBLE WAY to get our models into a usable DWG file to our consultants, collaborators and consultants.

We have spend many hours in our office trying to resolve this issue, and in the end the only possible way to create a usable, small-sized DWG file from our 3D model is to 'save as' a PDF, reimport the PDF to VW, and explode the PDF just to get the lines.

Not ideal at all but no other options we have found so far.

    Is it really that bad.

I agree this should be a simple process. The software costs a lot and should have this functionality without having to work around, going from 3d to a 2d export.

I'm going to try your suggested route.

    Thanks for the advice.

  4. I have the same problem.

I have just begun using Vectorworks 2019 (recently upgraded from many years use from Minicad all the way to VW 12).

I now model all buildings in 3d environment.

I have exported to dwf/dwg as usual (this has worked well for years for 2d files) to issue drawings to other consultants, however, other consultants cannot open useful drawings.

I've tested the files I produce by reimporting the same files back into VW2019 and the result is not very good - lots of information missing.

I am now regretting moving to 3d.

Is there any advice on how to successfully export from a 3d model based project so other consultants can open useful drawings.

    Many thanks.

    Paul
