With this criteria, it works fine. the use at creation was checked. however although i can now get the line weights and colours to transfer any fills revert to none
  3. also if copying and pasting between files the attributes are lost
  4. Previously if an object was copied from a file and pasted into another file its attributes were copied with it, if the class did not already exist. Also the class was created with the attributes. With v10.0.0 v10.0.1 and v10.1 this is no longer the case. The attributes are not carried into the file.
  5. i've been working on vw 10.0.1 on a pc 1G MHz 512Mb RAM running windows XP. first problem extremely slow refresh times. I only really appreciated how slow when i went back to using VW v9 Problems with attributes not referencing through and when trying to change the original file attributes associated with class this made vw crash. random problems. eg. anchor points didn't work properly. gave up. went back to vw9
  6. i wish software houses would stop releasing software which is obviously not ready for the market. i liked a lot of the changes with vw10. unfortunately the program has become very slow and there are too many problems many of them coming and going without any pattern. i will not waste any more of my time on this. i'm looking forward to a revamped version of vectorworks 10.

If you have the upper left hand radio checked, then that point will sit still and the rectangle will move to the right when changing the x values. If you have the upper right radio checked, the rectangle will move to the left while keeping that point still. funnily enough i've been using minicad and now vectorworks for the last 9 years and i have in that time learnt a little of how to operate the application. it was a problem with the software not the operator. i was using the top left radio button and the object reacted as if i was using the centre radio button. this is purely academic as i have put vw10 back in its box. conclusion. i wish software houses would stop releasing software which is obviously not ready for the market. i liked a lot of the changes. unfortunately the program has become very slow and there are too many problems many of them coming and going without any pattern
  8. within a symbol. editing a rectangle. the top left anchor is selected. when i increase the y value the rectangle grows as if the middle anchor had been selected. why don't i trust vectorworks anymore.
  9. working on a polygon within a group within a group runtime crash. either VW10 is still incompatibily with XP OS or it is absolutely full of bugs. either way it is taking longer and longer for me to get any work out. and i am becoming less and less satisfied with VW10
  10. With text colour set at use class attributes if you then change the pen colour of the class the text colour is not updated. on trying to manually alter the colour of the text vw crashes. also colour change associated to classes doesn't work through the referencing of a file. with vw9 it was necessary when referencing to edit all classes without making any changes and then ok-ing. this although annoying was a quick fix for the problem. however this no longer works with vw10
  11. doesn't happen all the time in the same situation. i'm not able to work out what triggers it but it still occurs with only one file open.
  12. we use reference files as a method for printing and archiving issued drawings. one main file is referenced into a series of different file one for each issued drawing. this enables us to work with coloured links in the main drawing and print with black lines for the issued drawings (whilst maintaining coloured fills) However VW 10 does not carry the class infomation across in the first place. i do not want to have to waste my time going through and re applying the class information each time i reference in a file. It worked in v8 and v9 why has it suddenly droppped out
  13. when changing an objects attributes from the class defined NONE to SOLID, the default colour is grey not the classes default solid colour (eg white). upon trying to change the object attribute the program chrashes a runtime error. currently running XP professional on a 1 gig processor with 512mMb RAM. Only outlook in the back ground few system applications.
