That error occurs if you move the application out of the Vectorworks 2010 folder, normally users will attempt to put this on the desktop. Is it located anywhere OTHER than the Vectorworks 2010 folder? If so, place it back in that location and attempt to run it.
  3. You cannot install previous versions of service packs. Download and install 2008 SP3, it will install 1,2 and 3 all together or just the ones you need: http://www.nemetschek.net/downloads/fundamentals/2008/2008SP3.php
  4. The link to the enhanced wall joining feature is wrong. It now opens the DCM integration video. Please fix this because I really want to see that feature! The enhanced wall join feature is covered in the DCM Integration video; however, we will be uploading the correct portion of the video for wall joining shortly. Our apologies for the confusion.
  5. For a detailed explanation of the guidelines for this forum please review section 10 of the Community Board Guidelines. http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=115307#Post115307 In General: All services, products or events posted must be directly related to VectorWorks or its users. A moderator, but not the initial poster must approve all posts. Members are allowed one post per event or product version release, or one post per month per ongoing service or repeating event. If approved, the thread may be unlocked for comments by request. The initial poster may request that the thread be removed if for instance, the item has become obsolete. Individual comments may not be removed, however. Periodically, the moderators may delete inactive obsolete posts.
  6. In addition to searching the Community Board, please try searching the Vectorworks Knowledgebase for the answer to your questions. http://kbase.vectorworks.net/ A link to the Knowledgebase is also available in the VW Community Links island on the right side of the page.
  7. David, Did you check the stacking order of the layers? It sounds as if the design layer at 100% opacity is stacked below a layer at 50% opacity.
  8. Shaun, There is no option to turn on Hardware Accelerated 2D Navigation in VW 2009 because now the feature is always on. What exactly is the issue you are experiencing in 2009?
  9. Jim, The easiest way around this: 1) On one of the machines, set it up with the favorite files the way you like it and with the correct workspace. 2) Go to File > Exit specifically, to close Vectorworks. (Not the X at the top right.) This will save the preferences into the user folder. 3) Copy the folder from the following (default) location: C:\Documents and Settings\(Username)\Application Data\Nemetschek\VectorWorks\2008 4) Place this folder in the corresponding location on any machine you wish to keep the same settings. It will open Vectorworks with the workspace you chose, as well as the whole favorites library. No quick option to place a VW icon on the desktop unfortunately, that would have to be modified in the machines' images beforehand.
  10. After you get complex objects modified by complex objects further altered by MORE complex objects, this tends to happen. The best fix pre-2009 is to taxe the two objects you wish to operate on, and convert them to a generic solid BEFORE doing the subtract/add/fillet. You dont need to do both of the objects all the time, and sometimes just the components of complex objects or their subcomponents need be changed to generic solids in order to alleviate this. (Modify > Convert > Convert to Generic Solids)
  11. If iTunes isn't running, it means your installation of QuickTime is bad. Uninstall and reinstall Quicktime, 7.5 seems to be doing fine across the board.
  12. Failing all of that, this issue is often corrected on Macs by going to Tools>Options>VectorWorks Preferences, under the Display tab, and toggling the setting for "Quartz Imaging" While you're there, make sure "Hardware Accelerated 2D Navigation" is on as well.
  13. If you have a professional copy you can call customer service and they can perform a platform switch, the same disk will work for Mac/Win but the pro serial numbers are keyed to a specific OS. If you're using the EDU version then it can run on either OS with one serial number.
  14. Fred, There is an easier way to do this by adding the title block to your default content and using the Issue Manager. Please view the following video tech tips: Custom Title Block: http://kbase.nemetschek.net/index.php?ToDo=view&questId=163&catId=29 Issue Manager: http://kbase.nemetschek.net/index.php?ToDo=view&questId=168&catId=29
  15. Mike, Go to the VW Preferences, then click the Display tab and try turning on Hardware Accelerated 2D Navigation. Also try toggling the Quartz Imaging from whatever its current setting is set to.
