Hi, This issue with spaces and your palettes not appearing is an operating system issue, as other programs that use palettes experience the same problem. It should be fixed in some future Leopard update, so until it is resolved we would suggest disabling spaces. If you would still prefer to use spaces, you may want turn on the AutoSave feature found in your VW Preferences to prevent the lose of your work again.

This issue was resolved in a previous update. Please make sure you are running the latest version, VectorWorks 2008 SP2(Build 83388). http://www.nemetschek.net/downloads/fundamentals/2008/2008SP2.php If you are still having issues with exporting after updating please call tech support for assistance with your issue.

Major Autocad 2008 Import Problem! VW2008 Export Not Working!
PVA - Jim replied to JGraber's question in Troubleshooting
Hi, The workaround for this issue is go to Local Disk > Program Files > VW 2008 >right click >properties>compatibility>select XP Pro service pack 2. Apply changes. Export to DXF/DWG should work after changing. -
By default there a selection handle just to the left of right of the tag. With the 2D selection tool, place the cursor over the selection handle until you get the resize cursor then move the tag to change the length of the leader.

Hi, First quit VW then go to HD > Username > Library > Application Support > VectorWorks > Workspaces > and delete all of the workspace files. Then launch VW. The text should appear correctly *If you have a custom workspace before deleting it in the Application Support folder, make sure you have a copy in HD > Applications > VW > Workspaces.

Greg, The Eyedropper Tools allows you to copy properties from one object to another, and the Eyedropper tool Preferences allows you to choose which properties get applied.

Bug? Align/Distribute in rotated plan view objects disappear
PVA - Jim replied to CS1's topic in General Discussion
Hi, I am trying to duplicate your issue but am unable to do so. Are you using the Align/Distribute command in the Modify menu, or are you using the Align/Distribute Items tool from the Spotlight tool set? -
VW 12.5 users running VectorWorks on Intel Macs must open the program using Rosetta to import SketchUp files. If after running in Rosetta, when attempting to import a SketchUp file, nothing happens the likely cause is version of the Sketchup File. VW 12 supports SketchUp 5 and earlier. If you try importing a SketchUp 6 file in VW 12, nothing will happen. VectorWorks 2008 does support SketchUp 6 and does not require opening the program with Rosetta to import the SketchUp files.

You are trying to fillet the the extruded rectangle's edge correct? You do not need to subtract solids for this. In the 3D Modeling Tool Set there is a Fillet Edge Tool.

In the Program Files > VectorWorks 12 > Workspaces folder, remove all the Workspace files. (Dragging them out to the desktop is fine for now.) There should be a folder in the Workspaces folder called "Backup 1" or "Originals" Copy the workspaces out of this sub folder, into the main workspaces folder and try starting VectorWorks again. If the same problem happens, try running the QuickTime Player, if it does not open, download and install the latest one from Apple. These steps will almost definitely fix that issue if executed correctly.

This is probably more than you'll need to do, but this is a complete manual uninstall of VectorWorks on a PC: 1) Click and drag your VectorWorks folder (Default location: C > Program Files > VectorWorks) to the recycle bin. Empty the recycle bin. 2) Click Start > Run and in the dialogue box that pops up, type ?RegEdit? 3) On the left hand side of the window that pops up, ?Registry Editor? you will see a few small icons that look like folders with + or ? signs next to them, click all the "?" signs except the one next to ?My Computer?, you should see one folder labeled: ?HKEY_CURRENT_USER? 4) Expand this folder by clicking the "+" sign to the left of it. Inside you will see a ?Software? folder, expand it as well. 5) Right click on the ?Nemetschek? folder and select Delete. Do the same with the ?VectorWorks? folder. 6) Repeat these steps for the folder ?HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE? as well.

Cannot see HASP licensing manager.
PVA - Jim replied to it should just work's question in Troubleshooting
Did you use the HASP License manager and Dongle Drivers from the DVD? If so, try these instead: ftp://ftp.aladdin.com/pub/hasp/new_releases/driver/HASP4_driver_setup.zip ftp://ftp.aladdin.com/pub/hasp/hl/windows/installed/redistribute/lm/HASP_License_Manager.zip -
The tedium involved in trying to figure out (much less manually sorting) which particular files were needed for just fundamentals would be pretty severe. Many of the files needed for other variants of VectorWorks are used in fundamentals as well, and you'd still end up copying the majority of the files regardless. The best way to do it, would be to copy the contents of the DVD into a folder on the server, zip/rar or otherwise compress the folder, the, push it out to all the user machines and decompress/install from there. -J
