  1. If it is a network license and the serial number starts with C or G, then yes it would cut out. E and B serial numbered licenses would not.

    General non-functionality on Laptop

Not JUST the GPU on it's own most likely. If its actively trying to switch between them however, which Vectorworks is supposed to to in the background if the other stuff is configured as we talked about above, that could make it behave like that. Its worth doing a full reset however to see if it changes behavior:

    2019 Service Pack 3 -

contact tech@vectorworks.net in that case, they should be able to get you squared away. Everything there looks to be in order.

    General non-functionality on Laptop

I asked about that once and I believe the answer was that we locked it off in that menu so that you always controlled it under Lighting Options in Vectorworks instead.

    2019 Service Pack 3 -

Could you send me a screenshot of your Vectorworks > About Vectorworks window, please? But yes, if you have sp0, sp1 or sp2 it should already have been offering you sp3.

Service Pack 3 for Vectorworks 2019 released

OH if you mean the library/resource content, that can be copied directly from one machine to another if desired. You only need to update the resources on one machine then share them with the others. I used the term "content" to refer to the guts of a Vectorworks update a few times and I shouldn't have been so sloppy with my word choice, apologies.

Service Pack 3 for Vectorworks 2019 released

No, it only downloads the difference in the base tech, then the new content on its own. With the old system, you downloaded the installer whole each time as well as the changed content for Vectorworks. With the new one, the only time it redownloads the installer is if we rebuilt it for some reason, if its the same as it was last time, it just downloads the difference. Also with the old system, the installers ALWAYS included the guts of previous installers with them, so that SP6 for instance was able top update SP1 through SP5. The new system checks what you currently have and just downloads what it needs and nothing extra. If theres no new SP to install, what would you expect it to be doing? The updater itself now comes with the full installation of Vectorworks and remains inside the application folder always instead of making you download another and another over and over. I think I'm just misunderstanding what you're seeing.

    General non-functionality on Laptop

You may want to look for any Asus-specific app power control settings, and see if theres a Performance mode or something like that. I'm fairly certain windows can just be set to High Performance in the regular power management settings as far as that option goes to help make sure the right GPU is used.

Service Pack 3 for Vectorworks 2019 released

This is only if they want an Offline Updater, meaning that the single installer normal users work with isn't an option, since that installer requires an internet connection in order to bring down all the content libraries. Separate downloads for the service packs are unrelated to that, you can just run the Update Vectorworks application now and it will update itself and give you the version you want, and the advanced options within it allow you to roll back to older SPs if you need to. I can't speak to any workarounds that were intended to get around rolling region releases however.

    General non-functionality on Laptop

Most likely, there may be a way to disable it there, also it may sound odd, but check the laptops documentation and make sure there isnt a hardware toggle for it, i've seen some come with physical switches or fn key combos that can change that setting as well. Dont try to disable the integrated GPU in Windows device manager though, that causes a bunch of other problems (I know from experience)

    General non-functionality on Laptop

Are you using an external monitor or is the 4K display the laptops integrated one? Did you change the default GPU by using these steps, or via a different settings pane like System or Geforce Experience?

A 1050 should do alright, reply back with the following from that machine please:

    File Icon Colour

This should let you reset it, theres a few clicks in a specific order but it does sound like you were already close: However, if it still doesnt work after that, you may be able to restart your machine and launch Vectorworks 2018 first and it should ask you if you want Vectorworks 2018 to be the default app for .VWX files. That should trigger a change for all of the icons as well. If it doesnt offer that, resetting preferences can sometimes make it ask you again:

    Image Prop blocks sunlight

If you can, pop that image prop into a file on its own and post it here, should be fixable.

    Image Prop blocks sunlight

Select the texture the Image Prop is using in the Resource Manager, then right click > Edit, you should be able to uncheck "Cast Shadows" in the texture edit dialog and then light wont affect it any longer.

    Memory Matters

No flat size rating that determines it, speed and memory use also have to do with what KINDS of geometry you have. Meshes and some other 3d polygonal geometry types are particularly important to keep an eye on, but theres no strict regimen to stick to.

    Streamdeck integration.

That'll depend on interest! The more votes this thread gets, the more likely. I'll take a look and see if the rest of icons can be pulled from elsewhere.

    Vectorworks Significant Energy Use

That GPU is only the minimum spec for what should run so that isn't too surprising. Vectorworks is a very demanding high powered application and it will use all system resources it possibly can. You MIGHT be able to reduce energy use by using Tools > Options > Vectorworks Preferences > Display > Navigation Graphics and setting it to Best Compatibility, that will reduce GPU usage, but performance will suffer.

    Vectorworks Library Disappeared

Do you happen to have any TrendMicro security products on that machine? I've had a few reports of their security suite attacking some of our application guts recently.

    Streamdeck integration.

If you're on a Mac, you should be able to get at them directly, the "2x" ones are the ones for high res displays: Macintosh HD⁩ ▸ ⁨Applications⁩ ▸ ⁨Vectorworks 2019⁩ ▸ (Show Package Contents on 2019 app)⁩ ▸ ⁨Contents⁩ ▸ ⁨Resources⁩ ▸ ⁨Vectorworks.vwr⁩ ▸ ⁨Images⁩ However I've attached a zip of that folder in case any Windows users need them, as I think its harder to get at them from that OS. The naming and folder structure wasn't meant to be user friendly, but searching for a tool name within this zip should find what you need. Images.zip

    Memory Matters

Memory usage can also be dramatically affected by how large your file is in conjunction with how many Undo operations you have set in Vectorworks Preferences. I believe he default is 20 operations, but many people increase this to 100 which can spike memory use significantly. We are also tracking our RAM and VRAM usage footprints and have some upgrades planned that should reduce how much memory Vectorworks and the VGM need to perform the same amount of work.

Shading not showing up in cross section

You may need to select the Section Viewport, and then under Advanced Properties > Attributes, make sure that Sepearate Cross Sections is selected and that "Use Attributes of Original Objects" is checked, I think it will default to a solid grey or red section plane color. Screenshot included in case the German version has dramatically different names for the settings:
  24. To uninstall Vectorworks 2017 and later First, close the application, then: Windows: Start > Vectorworks 201X > Uninstall Vectorworks 201X OR Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Select Vectorworks 201X and click Uninstall OR In the Vectorworks 201X application folder, normally found in C:/Program Files, double click the Uninstall icon. Mac: In the Vectorworks 201X Application folder, there is an "Uninstall" application. Double click this to begin uninstalling Vectorworks 201X.

    Shuttering Spotlights in OpenGL

If youre rendering on the design layer, then yes reducing screen res (or reducing anti aliasing) will reduce the effective resolution that it renders at.
