  1. When I click "Quick Quote" it does it automatically, but you can also manually do:
  2. Send me that file please, I can take a look. Tech@vectorworks.net
  3. In the design layer as well as in the viewport? Your objects do not have a "None" for their fill in the attributes palette?
  4. Viewports set to OpenGL need to be updated to show the OpenGL view. This is done via the update button in the Object Info palette with the viewport selected. Wont be related to the default 3D view settings in a design layer other than the active render mode when you create a viewport being the default the viewport is set to.
  5. I have seen it caused by Office for Mac as well. The issue still occurred with no other apps running, including Safari?
  6. Select all of the lines in a Top/Plan view, then in the Object Info palette at the top right, set their Plane to "Layer" Then, in a front or side view, you should be able to use the Modify > Rotate command or the Rotate tool to stand the lines up.
  7. It should now keep it if you change views. So if you set it to OpenGL, then manually render in OpenGL on that design layer, switching back to Top/Plan then to a 3D view should resume OpenGL. If it does not, let me know.
  8. If it keeps doing that after a reboot, perform this procedure with Vectorworks and all other applications closed: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/623/Disk+Utility Then, launch just Vectorworks 2015 and try the hotkeys again.
  9. What is the 2D building section drawing in your file made up of? Lines? Or is it an image you have imported? However, normally you would use the hybrid Door, Window and Wall tools to draw out the floor plan, then your 3D model is already ready.
  10. (I am aware, I was checking just to be sure because of that.) Do any other modifier hotkeys behave that way for you as well? Holding down Option to duplicate for instance, not staying in the duplicate mode? Or the B key for xray mode not staying on when held down?
  11. If you are in a new document, it should go to OpenGL, but it will not modify the 3D view of an existing file that you converted to 2015. Is that the case on your end?
  12. What version of Mac OS X are you on? 10.6?
  13. It wouldn't have anything do do with 32bit vs 64bit as far as I know. In a new blank document, draw a wall and insert a door into it in 2015. Select everything then set the pen color to blue or red. then, if you render in wireframe in an isometric view, do you not see the colors? I still see colors here. The overly thick lines I believe were actually a bug that was corrected in 2015, but I can verify.
  14. A directly reply from the engineers working on it: "The answer for that is, there are four things that are important to note as far as ability to open on a device. 1. How much memory is available on the device 2. How much curved geometry is in the 3D model 3. How many textures the model has. 4. There is a difference between the size of the vwx file and the size of the 3D project that is seen in Nomad. There is no way to predict what the size of the 3D model will be based on the vwx file size. In some cases it could be bigger and other cases could be smaller. We will be working on optimizing this in the future, so that bigger 3D models can be handled by the same devices. File size by its own is not the only thing that determines whether will be handled by the device. I've seen smaller files crashing due to out of memory and bigger files being opened. It really depends on how many textures the model has and how complex is the geometry." -Iskra Nikolova
  15. It will happen, its just behind the iOS version. I use Android as well 1) Both as far as I understand. Its effectively a currency of "Processing Time" which is lower for the 3D models compared to complex flat renderings, since OpenGL is much easier to render in than Final quality across a bunch of viewports. 2) I do not know of a max size, I believe the main restriction is time. Currently if the job takes longer than 24 hours to complete, it will halt and send you an error message. (I think this is mainly a temporary safety measure in case a file or rendering becomes stuck since this system is new.)
  16. Next to the "Resources" line in the Resource Browser there should be a small button with a triangle on it. Click that and choose "View As > Thumbnails to see the thumbnail view. When you double click on symbols after that and try to place them in a new document, you get nothing? If you zoom out, it isn't that they simply placed too large to be seen at the default zoom of 100% at 1:1 scaling?
  17. This will guide you through the full uninstall process, which is worth a try: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/1105/Uninstalling+Vectorworks If the installation works in the new user account still, then the issue is within your older user account. The majority of the time it is impossible to pick through your account to find the specific problem, It is oftentimes better to migrate to a new account. How long has that account been in use? Was it transferred from older versions of the OS to this current one?
  18. I have NOT heard any official talk of a store, but engineers are absolutely putting an eye towards simplified scripting, heavily customizable or even custom from-scratch plugin objects and a method of sharing them between users. However they were in extreme early stages of doing so, I could not even guess at an implementation schedule.
  19. Apparently this labeling is based upon the scale the layer is currently set to. Creating the labels when it is set to something like 1:1200 may not show the additional contours, but at a scale of 1:25 or 1:50 it will.
  20. That is the section line, you will need to select the Section Viewport itself to change it.
  21. A huge percentage of our users are on Service Select, I think this version it hit upwards of 60-70% and its been increasing steadily. Personally I would want to see the same thing, periodic releases throughout the year that not only fix issues but add big features as they complete. I know there has been work towards something like this, the ability for us to deliver large features and new content between numbered releases. The Vectorworks Package Manager is one of the first steps to letting users more easily add large modules and third party plugins automatically.
  22. it simply was not selected to be included in this release. All of the requests go in, but unfortunately they can not all be included at once.
  23. There are quite a few ways. The above will work great, you can also create a half-profile and use the Model > Sweep command, sweeping 180 degrees, then Shell as mentioned above to give the needed thickness. A rough example: [img:center]https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=11115&filename=sweep.PNG[/img] [img:center]https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=11116&filename=sweep2.PNG[/img]
  24. Sometimes I slip into my chamber to sleep and regenerate, I am only half machine! BaRa's answers were correct and I added a few more details.
