Objects that are on both that layer and that class will become invisible, but no, layers and classes are not tied together. Only if an object resides on both will it disappear if either is set to invisible.

If you can get it to happen again, let me know. I don't know of a reason that it would switch (it shouldn't), but unless we can narrow down a repeatable set of steps that causes it, I won't be able to submit it and get it fixed if it is something in the application itself.

They should not change by themselves no. I have not seen this before unless the file was rolled back to a backup or else in the case of saved views rather than viewports. Actually the opposite is true. If you create a drawing with classes A, B and C, then create a viewport, if you add objects to the file in a class D, only A B and C will be shown in the previously created viewport. If you were to make a new viewport after the new class was created and objects added to it, you would see objects from A, B, C and D.

For Sweeps, you mean?

Looks like 2013 is simply overriding the OS X shortcuts. I'll submit this and see if its something that the newer versions can be made to do, or if its actually 2013 being "broken" and overwriting things it should not overwrite. (Often Apple has 'rules' about this sort of thing that need to be adhered to by developers, whether it is a useful feature or not.)

No, and it does not look like I will anytime soon, these tools hook into a LOT of other aspects of the application and can't be quickly changed. If I do get any new information that I can share, I will.

Submitting wish 2 now. For wish 1, do you think it would be a better interface to simply have the existing distance and orientation of the Profile object used as the offset from the Path during creation? Or is that a little too confusing/difficult to visualize before the EAP is created and the user can see it in 3D?

Unable to reproduce on win 8.1, OS X 10.9 or 10.10. Could you please send any one file where you have had this happen to tech@vectorworks.net, including the names of the textures you were able to switch from and to, to cause the crash? I'll test further.

This is determined by your Unit settings. Most likely under File > Document Settings > Units, you have the rounding precision at 0.1 or something similar, if you change it to .00001 for example, you will start to see the differences in the rulers, but you will need to set this higher the more you want to zoom in. If you are zooming in really far (more than 5000%) then you may need to set this rounding precision to an even smaller amount.

It makes sense that users should be able to sort what Check Spelling is looking at by object type, rather than the limited categories it offers now to avoid that extra stuff. I'll submit a feature request for that.

OH, for that to be avoided you would want to make sure the None class (where most objects are created) is NOT set to Use Class Attributes. That option should only be used on classes that you want that behavior to be applied to objects by default. None should usually be black pen, white fill, no "use at creation" enabled to keep things simple, then if you want to add the Use Class attribute to some or all of an object attributes, only do so manually on the object or only in other classes that you plan to move the object into or create in originally. There is no way to strip the Use Class Attributes automatically from an object that had it applied via the class it was originally drawn in.

I was not able to replicate the behavior with new Rectangles in your file, but I see that yours were taking on the class attributes even though the class isn't set to do that by default. In that document, if you select no objects at all, in the Attributes palette, what are the Pen, Pen Color, Fill Color and Fill set to? If they are set to Use Class with no objects selected and the Rectangle tool active for example, then Rectangles will be placed with Use Class Attributes by default. This setting is specific to your install of Vectorworks, so that may explain why I do not see the same behavior.

However I just noticed if I ONLY select the Legend, then run the Check Spelling command, it does not pick them up. Either no objects should be selected before running Check spelling, or the Callout objects need to be selected before running it, then it will check the contents of the legend.

I do not see the same behavior here in 2015 SP1 on Windows 8.1. This happens even when you create a new blank document, not from a template and create a new class in it, then drop in a few rectangles? I do not believe the functionality you are seeing to be intentional.

If you want it to only spellcheck within callouts/keynotes, you can use Select Similar to select them all first, then running the Check Spelling command should only check the spelling of objects within the active selection.

Text > Check Spelling SHOULD spell check text within a Callout or Keynote object directly, even within groups and symbols.

I have not seen the final version, even if I had I would not be able to give exact details yet, but it will still require some learning. I can not code at all, but was able to learn similar node-based UIs for scripting in 3DS Max pretty rapidly. If it isn't intuitive enough on its own, I will be lobbying for a training package with multiple examples to be available immediately upon release of the feature, something that the other scripting packages lacked that would have made them more accessible to new users/users new to scripting.

What version did you last see this working in, by the way?

The VPM is not working well with Yosemite before SP1 here, but in testing after adding SP1 it seems to work fine. The best workaround seems to be to click one of the individual libraries first, then the rest will download, but for some users on 10.10 it isnt possible to scroll down in the list until they install SP1. However if that still fails, for you or anyone else reading this, send me an email at Tech@vectorworks.net with the last 6 of your serial number and I can get you a download link.
