  1. Rendering times on all files or just a specific set/specific file? There were Renderworks changes, but nothing that "should" cause significant slowdowns: http://www.vectorworks.net/downloads/notes/2015SP1_Notes.php
  2. Where are you seeing that it is stars? Looking at the gobo and the results, they match on my end. A series of dots in a gridlike pattern. It also appears this gobo matches the real world versions: http://www.norcostco.com/rivet-wall-apollo-glass-gobo-sr-2137.aspx http://www.amazon.ca/Apollo-Rivet-Wall-Super-Resolution/dp/B003ZAGO02
  3. Submitting request for the OIP to display a Group's X,Y,Z coordinates and size as well as its center/centroid/barycenter in 3D.
  4. Your logic is correct, but it wont be fixed if filed as a bug. Keep in mind that "It was designed wrong" also means it would go in as a feature request, even if it seems like a really obvious omission. Its just filed that way because of how feedback coming from users is sorted, not that it functionally doesn't need to be changed. (The nomenclature of "New Feature" and "Bug" aren't specific enough to split apart how many different types of feedback we get, im working to change this system.) Submitting it now.
  5. If it doesn't have the options you want (and never did) then it would be a feature request. Did it used to have these options and now it does not? Or did they work before and are not working now? In that case it would be a bug.
  6. Also, if you could please post a screenshot of what you're getting: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/892/How+to+take+a+Screen+Shot Also, are you using SP0 or SP1 of Vectorworks 2015? What operating system? Adding this information to your signature will make this easier in the future.
  7. I am not able to replicate this on Windows 8.1 or OS X 10.9.5 in Vectorworks 2015 SP1. Do you already have SP1 installed? What operating system are you currently testing this on? Are you working with the default workspace or have you customized it/migrated an old one over?
  8. Its specific to what distributor you have to which license types you would have available. As far as the US licenses go: A 'B' series license (Your serial number will start with B) is the single-seat dongle system, where you plug the dongle directly into the machine you want to use Vectorworks on at a given moment. A 'G' series (Your SN will start with a G) has only one dongle installed on a "server" which just has to be any always-on computer on your network, and your various machines with Vectorworks installed on them connect and borrow a license, then return it when the application is closed. These all install with the same serial number, but link into one dongle and license manager that determines how many licenses you can have at a given time. There was an older version called C series which is being phased out, as its not compatible with the latest OSes which was similar to G series. For specifics, ask your distributor about other options, each of them can have different types available.
  9. As far as I know it does not matter at all anymore. More often than not the logic is the other way around, that you need to seek out PS-compatible software only because you have a PS printer. PS used to (In the mid-to-late 90s I believe,) be the only real way to get vector graphics onto a page but now any printer is capable of this. I personally can not tell the difference between prints from a PS and a non-PS model of the same printer.
  10. There are no open dialogs from Vectorworks on other spaces, under palettes or behind the main drawing area at all?
  11. Often that means a dialog box is open on another screen or behind the main drawing area. The icon at the top looks like Vectorworks 2014, is this the case? Which Mac OS X version are you using and which service pack of Vectorworks 2014 are you on?
  12. Thats a different and normally windows-exclusive issue. I saw it frequently in XP but really haven't encountered it at all since sometime around the Vista era.
  13. I see the same, some of the modes clear the first click and some do not. It looks like Circle by 3 lines mode wipes the first click, which SORT of makes sense since it doesn't work via points but selected edges, however ideally if you tab past that mode again it should recall the first clicked point from the earlier modes. Submitting request now.
  14. Aaaaaand I just found out we have a Torus object already... but it isn't listed in any workspace under 3D modeling (as one would expect) nor is it listed anywhere within the Help that I can see. Submitting as an issue now.
  15. Very nice! Thank you. This reminds me, submitting a feature request for a set of configurable 3D primitives as a 3D modeling tool. Basic stuff like toroids, all the regular -hedrons etc.
  16. Submitting request now. Its been submitted with different language before but the concept is similar.
  17. Applications on OS X can effectively call dibs on a particular hotkey or set of hotkeys. They are supposed to relinquish it (or ask for it back) when the user switches between active applications, but sometimes this gets stuck. On a few occasions it has been a problem on our end that we were able to patch and on others it has been an issue with the developer of the other software. I'll have this one checked just in case.
  18. Yep, the issue is that "It works in 3D while you're on the design layer" was the original answer, but the standard practice has been to dimension in annotations for a number of reasons, these two conflict. I am fairly certain the resolution will be allowing proper 3D dimensioning in annotations, but I am not sure when.
  19. Could you send me that set of objects at tech@vectorworks.net please? I'll submit it directly.
  20. As far as I know it will only affect Z height, it isn't capable of auto-rotating to align along a face. The only tool in Vectorworks I am aware of that can do anything similar to that is Surface Array.
  21. I am not able to replicate this here on 10.10 in 2013 SP4 or SP5. However, this was installed clean after the OS was updated to 10.10, I have had users with issues when they already had Vectorworks installed and then upgraded the OS after. Also, try the same export in a number of other workspaces, especially if you are using a customized workspace.
