  1. @bgoff could you direct me a little further? I can't seem to find an option in the object info pallet which allows you to set custom sizes. screenshot attached.
  2. Hi, Is there a way to assign an alternative schedule size for plants in landscape areas. I have a plant in the plant database at schedule size C1 in the plant style but for some other areas I require that plant to be a P9. Is there a way to assign the plant at an alternative size to its plant style in a landscape area without creating another plant in the resource manger solely for the smaller size?
  3. Hi Tamsin, Did you have any more advice on the above query? Any help would be appreciated Edit: Managed to solve my own problem. Was a simple case of using the formula incorrectly. Solution: =((CLASS='LP-G712 Soft Landscape-A')*('Plant Record'.'Quantity')) with sum values ticked. This gave me the quantity of the plants in the each of the classes.
  4. Apologies for the confusion and the poor explanation, I meant only classes and not layers. Hopefully the screenshots attached shows clearer what I'm trying to achieve. I want to give each class its own column so I can calculate the quantities of the same species over a number of classes in the same worksheet. =Class() has given me the designated classes but =Class(Lp-G721 Soft Landscape A) doesn't filter out just that class data
  5. Thanks for the reply Tamsin. I figured as much and have added the class layers into the criteria (LP-G721..A/B/C). I am trying to work out plant numbers ('Plant record'.'Quantity') for those specific class layers and not the entire design layer. I think there is a formula for it but I've ran into a bit of a wall trying to figure it out. So in that column I would like to isolate a class layer and work out the quantities for the species in that class
  6. Hi, I am trying to create a worksheet which allows me to calculate the number of plants within a class layer. The criteria is set up for the layer that I want, I am just struggling to workout the formula needed to execute and wondered if anyone could help? Attached screenshot of the current stage, I have isolated the class that I want but its not the right formula to calculate numbers. Thanks in advance
  7. Hi Tamsin, Many, many thanks to you and Adrian for looking into this and finding a solution!! It will be a really handy function when producing planting plans Thanks again
  8. I am using landscape areas to specify the amount of plantsper square meter, is there way to limit vector works to just specify odd numbers of plants and to round up areas? For example if I have an area of 1.5sqm and I plant at 4 p/sqm the output would be 6. Is there a function to bump up to 7 within the landscape areas tool ?
  9. Your question got me thinking and I've managed to solve it. Was a simple case of having the right criteria in place when creating the report. Thanks for the push in the right direction!
  10. Thanks for getting back to me Pat. I have tried using the criteria to filter out what I need. Putting objects onto a separate layer is what I thought would work and it does to an extent. The report is generated yet the fields are populated with any data. See screen shot. Any thoughts?
  11. Hi, Is there a way to create a report with selected objects. I am creating a planting schedule with data from a master plant file. Is there a way I can create a schedule for a selected number of landscape areas and individual plants without creating one for the whole site?
  12. That's really helpful to know, thanks! I've got various workarounds so I'll have to go with those for now. Not sure quite why it didn't work when I changed everything to ByClass for a test, but that might have been the way the symbols were set up! Thanks
  13. Hello, Wondering whether anyone can help with some IFC export issues- Certain elements won't export, despite having IFC data attached. I've particularly noticed this with extrusions. I tried running a test file where drew a series of simple cubes and converted the extrusions to meshes, 3D poly etc, and tried assigning different IFC data. I exported to IFC with the correct stories selected and using my usual settings (which will export walls, trees, hardscape, other vwx elements no problem), but no luck! I'm modelling a landscape which includes some bespoke objects so really need to find a way to model these that will export. Can anybody help? (Interestingly elements imported from sketchup often work with no problem??) I'm currently using Vwx Landmark 2019 on mac. Thanks
  14. Hello! I am attempting to override class settings in a viewport as per the instructions here: http://app-help.vectorworks.net/2017/eng/VW2017_Guide/Viewports2/Changing_the_Class_Properties_of_Sheet_Layer_or_Design_Layer.htm#XREF_23286_Changing_the_Class However it doesn't seem to work. As a summary, I have a number of tree symbols that are on the same class, but different fills. In my viewport I want to show them simply all with no fill. I've followed the instructions above but had no luck. Can anyone help? I've tried changing all the original trees to 'class style' in the fill (although not ideal as I still need them to show in different colours on other viewports), and I've tried different options in the class overrides, nothing seems to work. I've used a work-around for now by selecting elements in the tree symbol and using the detail level visibility options, but if I could get class overrides to work it would be a really useful tool! I thought it could be because they're symbols but I've tried other classes too and they don't work either- help!? I'm currently using Vwx Landmark 2019 on mac. Thanks!
