  1. I'm in the same boat, not sure what to do...
  2. No worries, Peter. Thanks, anyway! I ended up figuring out the problem. A friend of mine suggested publishing instead of exporting PDFs. I tried that, and noticed other OpenGL rendered viewports were working fine. Compared properties and found 'Project Screen Objects' had been checked on the viewports that were not exporting properly...
  3. Hi Peter -- Thanks for the response. I want to be careful about uploading this particular file, but I'm happy to share a screen video... It's weird, because some the elements are there, and then they disappear. The top viewport is OpenGL, the bottom is wireframe.. bandicam 2019-05-02 09-35-19-927.mp4
  4. Hello -- I'm currently using Spotlight 2019 to draw a special event. My drawing has plan and front view PDFs, with production elements such as lighting, audio, staging, etc... I have a sheet setup with two viewports, one of which is rendered in OpenGL. When I print the sheet (or export a PDF, image, etc...), the OpenGL viewport is wonky. It only shows the PDF, none of the other elements I have put in. Thoughts?
  5. That's what I'm currently doing. I currently have three PDFs layered/cropped/clipped to give me a very nice plan drawing, which I have 3D objects. I'm fairly new to VWX, but I'd imagine that I could take the full cross section drawing, 'hang it' vertically at the end of the plan drawing, and use a viewport to show a cross section that has my production and the PDF drawing.... is that how you would do it? Breaking the seating out into 3D was more me just trying to do something new, not really a job requirement in this particular case.
  6. Hello all, Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.... I'm working with a set of architectural drawings that are PDF imports. They include plans and cross sections of seating areas, which I would like to try and build in 3d... The way I'm trying to do it seems a little messy... trace the cross section, rotate vertically, place over the plan, and then somehow slice the plan view into rows and give those respective Z-axis...?
  7. Dude. Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed.
  8. I think I figured out how to do it, but am curious if anyone has a better way. Image attached. I sent the balcony seating to the back, then cropped the first bowl, and then cropped the main floor and moved it to the top. So instead of 'poking holes,' you really are cropping. I don't love it, but it works? I'd like to be able to hide the balcony and see everything that was underneath it, but...
  9. OK. Total noobmove, still can't get it. I need to do an 'inverse crop,' which I can't figure out...
  10. Thanks for the responses everyone! Seriously awesome insight. Scott -- I ended up importing what I had and it worked great. Thanks again! JustinVH -- Good to know! EAlexander - That sounds like pretty solid advice... 😛 Good CYA policy. I'm curious how you guys manage your symbol library then? What I mean is, over time, you hopefully build up an expansive, ever-growing, set of objects you can use. Do you guys typically leave those in your own folders, outside of VW, and load them per drawing? Or do you use the Resource Manager to create folders that are available whenever you want?
  11. Thanks, Scott. Totally agree on developing drawing and modeling skills. It's a complicated enough software that it can be tough to figure out if the answer is somewhere in the file>import, the resource manager, or in some other place entirely. Creating custom hybrid symbols is something I can do research on. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
  12. Hello -- New to VWX here, sorry for an obvious question... I've started drawing basic events, and I'd like to start incorporating specific equipment instead of using what comes stock. IE - Specific speakers, LED walls, furniture, etc... I see on manufacturer websites where I can download files, but it seems like these come in a verity of formats... Can someone shoot me in the right direction of how to import these?
