  1. Gentlemen, Thank you, so much. You have immediately solved my problem.
  2. Hi everybody, I am running into a new challenge in 2024. I have drawn the 3D and 2D portions of a hybrid symbol, but when I create symbol and place it in my drawing from the Resource Manager, it drops in as a 2D group with no 3D component. In the Resource Manager, I can edit both the 3D and 2D portions of the group. In the preview pane of the Resource Manager, it describes the resource as a "symbol/plug-in object", but when I hover the cursor over the symbol, the info pop up describes it as a "2D/3D group". I have tried creating a 3D symbol and then editing it to add the 2D component. I have tried creating a 2D symbol and editing it to add the 3D component. I have tried just creating 2D and 3D symbols. None of these options allows me to place a symbol in my drawing. They all come in as groups. I've never seen this before. Can anybody think of what I may be doing wrong? Boom Base.vwx
  3. No solutions for this? I also would love to learn how to solve this challenge.
  4. I've always thought Sheet Layers had to be 1:1, but for some reason, they're not, in this drawing, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Help? The viewport in the screenshot is blown up to 1"=1' and it's still way too small for an Arch E print. Casey 1699528335_URPSOGala042823MessedupSheetLayers.vwx
  5. Thank you both, so much. This is a huge relief. You saved me!
  6. I am building a scenic element with repeated components which I am making using extrudes, add solids, and subtract solids. I am then creating symbol with each object, leaving instance in place, and using symbol insertion to place duplicates. The unusual result I'm getting is that the OIP is calling those objects "extrude," "solid addition," or "solid subtraction," and not "symbol." Also, the name of each symbol is not appearing in the OIP. Also, the symbols, inserted using Insert Symbol tool, do not update, when the symbol is changed using Edit 3D from the Resource Browser. Also, symbols I created in an older document imported to the new one, behave normally: display "Symbol" at the top of OIP, display symbol name, and respond to edits from the resource browser. I'm not sure what happened that I can't make working symbols anymore. Any ideas? Symbol Glitch.vwx
  7. Thanks for your help. I'm still having trouble. Apparently I didn't install Spotlight properly. Spotlight doesn't appear on my tool bar or in my Resource Browser. I have all of the symbols that come with it, but I can't create instruments, nor can I access Spotlight/label legends. Is there a special installation step for Spotlight that I might have missed?
  8. Hi, It's been a while since I've used Vectorworks and I'm dropping Spotlight symbols of source 4s. I don't see the nifty data fields on my plot (You know... like the unit #, and that hexagon for circuit number, dimmer number or channel number, etc.) I can look at the Light Info Record and see all kinds of wonderful things about S4 lekos, but I still can't find a place to type in: Channel 2. How do I get the instrument data fields to show up on my plot? How do I get Vectorworks to Number my units? Thanks a lot, Guys. Casey
