Solved the problem. One plant symbol was placing more than 10 times the number shown for some reason so I ended up with tens of thousands of plants whcih slowed things down to a ridiculous pace. Thanks Eric

Hi I am working in VW 2009 w/ Landmark on a file approx 7MB in size. When I change the font of a plant grouping the change can take 10 - 15 minutes. The same happens if I place a large irregular group of plants using either triangular or square spacing. I have a brand new quad core 27" iMac 2.8ghz with 8 gig of RAM so I am reasonably certain it isn't a lack of computing power. Am I missing an obvious setting or preference? Thanks Eric
