  1. Hi, when editing a viewport style, and then selecting the edit viewport class properties, the 3rd column «Source» is not clickable… I mean for a class, if you click on it nothing changes. More, the 4th “update class definition following the referenced document” is not there (it re-appears if I “unstyles” the viewports. Is that on purpose ? Or is this a bug ?
  2. That can be discussed. As an architect user of Vectorworks, I prefer the software suggests me “geometry-first” objects only. It’s up to me to decide the function : if this object is a window or a door, a structural-wall or a partition light-wall, a internal slab or a roof slab, etc. I see Vectorworks as a modelling and drawing tool only. I design the project. And I like Vectorworks for this freedom of design.
  3. I think many tools could be combined. Sometimes, I want to draw something, I start by wondering which tool I have to use. For example : why pilaster is a different tool from the add solid to wall ? why can you make a column using the column tool or the structural member tool ? Or more simple : why is there the Polyline and the 2D Polygon tool ? (Polyline with corner vertex looks the same as a polygon…). Maybe Vectorworks could have a “slimming treatment” in the number of standard workspaces tools. Nevertheless, I think it is great to make some tools “Legacy” and not deleting them, juste in case.
  4. Thanks for this solution @Tom W.. But, it is on the 15 000 m² project, with a lot of this kind of case. If I do that, I have to do it on every case, and when it will be corrected, the operations I will have to do are more complicated (we can not merge two walls). So, I prefer to wait for the U4 as it will be out soon I hope…
  5. Thanks @Tom W. I found this other thread : So, I’m gonna wait for the update 4…
  6. Hi, I’ve got a trouble with pocket sliding door. See in attached screenshot : the door panel goes in the wrong direction in 2D plan (in 3D it is OK). Is this a bug ? is there any workaround ? (reverse sides of the wall correct this but the trouble appears on the other sliding door of the wall…) @Matt Panzer? Vectorworks-pocket sliding door.vwx
  7. Hi @Mihail Rizov ! I attached the files here and created VB-217863 with all the files.
  8. Something I don't understand: I have two objects in two different classes. One of those 2 classes is hidden. I'm exporting only the visible elements to IFC. I open the IFC export, and I see both... Is this normal? How can I export only the visible elements? @Mihail Rizov Vectorworks-test export.vwx Vectorworks-test export.ifc
  9. You’re right. So that is also confusing : Low Details should also affect 3D as now 2D and 3D are linked for walls. I don’t see any reason why there is this Lew Details mode which affect the visibility of walls components in 2D only, and the render by objects setting which affect the “visibility” of walls components in 3D only. Nevertheless, when render is set by object for walls, the components still exist if you export in 3D. Each components use the wall’s fill and have no pen. Only the wall have a visible pen.
  10. I found out something which is not a bug, but confusing:  Low detail hides the components… not truly. If you set the view in 3D, it seems that there are no more components. But they are still there. It is just that the fill is the same for all the components, and there is no pen for the components, only for the wall. I get confused because I needed to export a light 3D model without the components of the walls, but that is not possible; in low detail, an exported model contains all the components. Am I right? edit : as @Tom W. mentioned, I’m wrong. Low Detail is not affecting 3D view. It is a different setting which allow you not to see the components of the wall. In order to do so, you have to set render by object in render tab. But, as I said, the components are not really hidden and still existe even if we don’t see them.
  11. @Pat Stanford I’m trying to get the result of the database cell K2 in a simple cell D7. I tried =SUM((Criteria),(formula)) , but it does not work… Do I do something wrong ?
  12. Hi, I tried this and did not managed to get it working. Are you sure that the SUM function can have criteria ?
  13. I’ve got it also. But I’m unable to download the beta by clicking on the link > I get a webpage where I can register to be informed only… @Dave Donley?
  14. Thanks @Stephan Moenninghoff. I created VE-108137.
