I hope you are joking ? A new version of the software and the biggest improvement is the "the tags" ?

I am getting this error as I try to edit the plant catalog, I have now had to draft a new version of the drawing as I cannot continue to use the place plant tool because it locks up within this error everytime, I only had about 10 plants in the drawing as well. What is causing this please ?

From a read of the specs any advancements seem to be on the margins again, has the Place Plant Tool been upgraded and in general has there been any real improvements to core functions ? BTW is 2009 a complete new version to 2008 or a tweak ? Thanks

I am pretty sure you can, ie convert to group then ungroup. I get all my base drawings from other consultants as one symbol which I group then ungroup which reverts the entire drawing to line work. Good luck.

Having to do that is a worry I feel, the complete silence to my request for help on this tech forum from anyone from VW is not a good advertisement for the product let me just say. I dont understand this, the software always included a landmark manual from the outset.

A number of issues, I am not upgrading but having to re-install as I had to re build my system :mad: Version 11.5.1 has been stable 2008 from most accounts offers little in advancements for the core function I require, ie landmark.

Ah......apart from the problem of calling international Tech support should respond to enquires don't you think ?

Bump ! I have also posted this is installation problems and I have submitted a bug and e-mailed direct with NO response at all. Could you please address this issue.

Thanks heaps for taking the time to reply Stephen, at times one feels like you are calling out into an empty cave. I have had an answer today, ( which may help others in the future ) the designers saved the drawing in paper space only ( in archicad ) which was the cause of the problem. I will try your work around at some time as well. As an aside the drawings I do get are always as a symbol ( again derived from Archicad ) I convert to a group then ungroup which explodes then again. I am importing a drawing from another designer and the layer details show me there is 2 design layers and 2 sheet layers, I can only find the drawing on one of the sheet layers and nothing on either of the design layers, this is a problem because I am needing to drag this updated drawing as a new base plan into a current drawing as they have changed details in their base drawing. When I try to import the drawing I can see on the sheet layer, into my drawing nothing appears ? I know sheets are different and I have always draged in updated base plans from design layers when they send me new drawings so what has happened please ? thanks

Thanks Pat that worked. I do wonder at times why the techs/mods very often choose not to assist with what is probably a straight forward query, it sits on the board until a member goes out of their way to post a reply. Sure it may have been asked before ( I always do a search mind you before posting ) or it may be a beginners problem, but you know..................

Trouble is that also removes the header line I want, ID QTY BOTANICAL NAME COMMON NAME HEIGHT WIDTH

Need help please. Again I have a drawing that is showing a third header line as shown below : PLANT LIST ID QTY BOTANICAL NAME COMMON NAME HEIGHT WIDTH 39 144 39 39 148000 97000 This line below the required ID line is counting/adding up all the height and widths and number of plants and it is printing on the plant list work sheet I have tried to do what is suggested above but it will not remove this line. How do I remove this line please ?

Mark, exactly the same requirement I have, ie I need new plant symbols to stand out against existing plants and it seems simple that you just create a new class for the "new plants" with a bolder line weight" Can Techs confirm Mark and I are not missing something and it in fact can be done please ?

Hi There, Having trouble changing line weights of a lot of plant symbols already on a drawing, I want to thicken the line. What is the correct process if editing the class the symbols are in ? If this is the best way to do it I have tried changing the line weight in the class from say 12 to 40 to get a big effect and I tick "use at creation" but has no effect in the drawing. Thanks OK I have managed to effect change on the weights by editing the actual symbol in the RB, and then moving the tag resets the line thickness, this seems a very cumbersome way of doing this why does not changing the class line weight work ?

Hi Mike, The movies, the "sell" has always been sweet in every release but the proof is in the pudding and past experience has shown that landmark, whilst a good tool, is in essence fragile in its delivery. I don't want to hear it offers a 100 new colours I want to see it stable and reliable, getting a drawing out when the client needs it, is far more important than "another shade of grey"

But is the place plant tool stable ? The tool has been clumsy in the past but I can live with that the real problem has always been how unstable it is. Extra plants and a few other bells and whistles are neither here nor there, "IS IT STABLE ?" In the past everytime I start a new drawing and I have to click on the "setup" the plant tool tab I shudder, look the other way and shut my eyes ! You actually see the drawing/software flicker,shudder and hang until it eventually locks it again ! Not reassuring stuff let me tell you. So, "IS IT STABLE?"

I have a 3rd column appearing on a plant list that is displaying and counting the height and width amounts ! also the total number of plants in the drawing, how do I turn this off/not have it do this please ?

Anyone tried it yet ? Has there been any real core improvements, especially with the troublesome place plant tool ? Thanks
