  1. "wet wash watercolor with rough color pencil edges, quick sketch. Outdoor, summer sun and blue sky. Brown trellis with modern furniture. Beige stone floor. wood slat wall. People, swimming pool. Blue umbrellas" Negative prompts: "Blue floor, orange walls". Pretty damn great for a half-day. This is some serious tool you've given us. Thank you!
  2. Yes, pinging from above, a slider to maintain colors might be useful. The "angry AI" does make lovely drawings that always change one thing too many 🙂 Perhaps someday it can be a rendering effect only, instead of a full imagination engine?
  3. Ah, I couldn't believe this wasn't already a thread! Thanks Dave. PS yes, navy umbrellas turns my trees blue and building roofs into umbrellas too :0(
  4. For example - a little poolside project, 90% great, but I need the umbrellas to be navy. Just. Cant. Do. It.
  5. Folks, starting to dabble with the new AI tools here. Pretty impressive but definitely stubborn on some things. Has anyone figured out the Negative Prompts? I've been getting lovely quality if illustration, but would prefer a bit more control of the content (given what we do and all as Architects). If it could be told to not change colors quite so much, or at all? Also somehow it keeps putting gables on all my flat roofs!
  6. Noted previously, months ago... door hardware that shows in Plan View does not flip/mirror correctly with 2024 door behavior.
  7. I have a file with design layer VP references (6 identical townhouses). Each Story has 6 copies referenced in of the same plan. They show up fine in Design Layers, but in Sheet Layer VPs most of the time in 2024 I am missing walls. See the two images below for reference. The one on Right is just after file open, on the left is if you double-click into the VP/Design Layer. When you back out to the Sheet it all shows correctly. This is annoying as one has to enter/exit each VP before printing.
  8. OK, well I'm on Mac so I'll give it another try. Right out of the gate the door and worksheet problems were non-starters... Most of my projects are 2+ years to get through permits so these updates are serious business.
  9. Just installing SP2 and will try again, previous was unusable hence the query.
  10. Yes, very annoying 'feature' that doors insert to bottom of wall, not to Finish Floor height.
  11. Workaround to create a lookalike window with the tags you want. Place it in the right spot (obviously it'll be 90 degrees wrong) but on a Nonplot layer. This is what we've been doing for years to get them onto schedules.
  12. That said, when I DO want to show a metal cap, I have another Parapet Cap wall, using the appropriate classes/textures, which defaults height-wise to Parapet Wall bottom, and Parapet Wall +2" for top. Therefore I draw my parapet wall as normally, then duplicate and change style to Parapet Cap & it automagically pops up a tad & recolors.
  13. I have my parapet wall style set to display textures by Object not by Component. Within the wall, the Exterior Face components are textured By Class. That way in 3d views it simply shows all 3 sides as whatever class the wall is drawn on ie: Stucco-Color-4
  14. None yet. I can't use it at the office. Still on 2023. Its unusable in current form. They mucked up a lot of stuff involving file imports They mucked up all the icons and user interface. Lord knows why. Solving problems that didnt exist instead of those we've been bitching about/
  15. Hah, oh well... so how would you draw a typical floor plan that can change slightly from floor to floor?
  16. Perhaps I was being optimistic... but here's what I'd love to have work: Draw a wall on a "typical floor" with all the component heights set to story levels. Viewport Reference that wall into the next story up, but have the wall respect the story levels of the wall it's placed into. ie: wall runs from Bottom of Slab to Bottom of Slab (story above). IE: 5 story building, top floor is 18" taller than all other floors but otherwise identical. I'd like to use one story as the "typical" and reference it up and down. Top floor doesnt respect the story heights. Bottom of Slab to Bottom of Slab stays at 10', not 11'6" for the top floor.
  17. Yes, this is exactly that. Follow the directions, then place the worksheet on the cover page of your file. You can right-click on it and choose Recalculate Worksheet and it will update the contents automatically.
  18. Hi, wondering if it's possible to get to these things in a worksheet? Or even just Story contents at all? I'm sure its possible but stumped me... Current wishlist: A worksheet with all Finish Floor elevations (for contractor) A worksheet that does some math, for example; Max Bldg Height = 'Top of Elevation R2' - 'Grade Plane'
  19. I have a Studio M1Max w/ 64GB RAM and it's frankly amazing. We're chucking around 750gb models without any fuss. Im not doing photorealistic renderings mind you, but cutting sections, and doing shaded elevations its a workhorse.
  20. Thanks again Pat, Database does work, and I'll just pull from there. PS: I sent you a PM.
  21. Hmmm, thanks again, but still no dice. Its strangely not even giving an error, just showing the text as though it weren't a function at all. Using Count and the PON & C= works to get the number of objects narrowed down, but the & seems to fail the objectdata function?
  22. OK, yeah I'm failing. Some subtle difference between Count and ObjectData giving me #OPCODE? error. How to combine a class filter with the Objectdata? (C='Site-Parking-Cars')
  23. @Pat Stanford, you're the best. I'm going to add a by class designation too, so we can do cars, bikes separately.
  24. Yes: https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2023/eng/VW2023_Guide/Setup/Creating_a_sheet_list.htm?rhsearch=sheet list&rhhlterm=sheet list lists Also note that you can use the active/inactive checkbox on title=blocks to turn them on or off in the sheet list. Pretty nice honestly. We have a bunch of rarely used sheets in our template file that're off by default.
  25. I can't find one,=COUNT(PON='Parking Spaces') can count the number of Objects of type parking Space, but since some of them hold multiple stalls this is pointless. How to count total number of stalls?
