  1. Well, that was surprisingly complex. You can make this work with a custom data tag. I've attached a file with a data tag that you can import and reformat. The records for title blocks are hidden so I had to do some research to figure out what the tag definition needed to be. Enjoy! Title Block Data Tag.vwx
  2. I see, let me see if there is a quick way to do this without having to create different types of title blocks.
  3. You will need to select "Edit Title Block Layout" in the Object info Palette. An edit window will appear and you can move resize and link the text and any other objects inside your title block.
  4. All good, You will need to create a Renderworks Style in the resource manager by selecting New Resource>Renderworks Style. Edit the resource and you can change all the rendering settings. Environment lighting brightens the model using colors from the background. Changing environment reflections will not directly affect lighting, it just selects which environment image shows up in reflections.

Cool, the card is definitely enabled. Now you just need to change the graphics settings to use the card for Vectorworks. Ive linked an article for doing just that.

Can you please send another dxdiag to verify that you are using the Nvidia card?
  7. You can also select which background is used for environment lighting.
  8. If you only want it to show up in reflections you can select which background is used for environment reflections by editing a Renderworks style.
  9. @Jim Wilson Are you aware of any outstanding issues with SP5?

That is likely, try enabling it for using Vectorworks and see if the issue persist. I would recommend restarting your machine as well once the dedicated graphics have been enabled.
  11. Well that is not the desired result, I'm sorry to hear about that. Are you working on High Sierra or Mojave? Can you provide any additional information about your machine?

Do you currently have a graphics card installed? According to the diag you are using the Intel HD 620 integrated graphics from your processor which aren't recommended for our entry-level system requirements. (Although, it can work for some files) https://www.vectorworks.net/sysreq
  13. You're welcome, if you have any more specific questions as you go along feel free to drop them here.
  14. You do need a designer series product to use the workgroup features. However, if you just wanted to share some template files and documents that contain resources, just save them on cloud storage or network storage that all of your users have access to. As long as the files can be accessed, any user can add them to their personal favorites folder and utilize them. Once you select "Add New Favorites Files", a Windows Explorer or Finder window will open where you can find the correct file(s). Do keep in mind, you may need something like the Dropbox desktop application to access cloud files from Windows Explorer or Finder.
  15. Have you installed Service Pack 5 for 2018?
  16. Caustic photons will drastically increase rendering time. You would need to ensure that you have caustic photons enabled on each of your light objects as well or it won’t have much of an effect. Furthermore, caustics aren’t necessary for making high quality glass renderings. To get you more familiar with the various settings I’m going to include some links to our instructional content on the matter. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiLCoe7DU1Hao1ig-Z_1KHHhIG8onnaUU https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiLCoe7DU1HY-bMr7_pFQIcacqM6f0ZMN https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiLCoe7DU1HZkZR_e9VABKT5WQW274sxj
  17. Which light object are you using? Also, if you change the Display Light Objects setting to "Only in wireframe" lighting objects will not display in OpenGL, Fast Renderworks, etc. If you change it to "Never" the light objects will disappear entirely from the drawing which may only be useful temporarily. (You could still edit lights through the visualization palette)

Here are few things you may want to check: 1. Make sure your graphics card driver is up to date (the latest version can be obtained from the manufacturers website) 2. If you have a dedicated graphics card, make sure Vectorworks is using it and not the one integrated with your processor 3. Try changing the Navigation graphics setting to Best Compatibility or Good Performance and Compatability
  19. Couldn't replicate the issue on my machine, are you able to share the file? Side note, if you use OpenGL and enable draw edges you can achieve a very similar result with faster rendering times. .
  20. @rjtiedeman Without a photo it would be hard to say what the issue is. I would first check that your ambient lighting level has not changed between the versions (View>Set Lighting Options). If you were looking for a quick fix you could create a viewport from a camera and then adjust the exposure by using a Renderworks Camera Effect.
  21. All Good, I'm excited to see what you'll come up with! This may be a good place to start:
  22. @EAlexander It would certainly be a challenge. My goal was to provide a user with a workflow to accomplish a task that they wished to complete in Vectorworks. Honestly, I'm sure there is a better way to do this with or without using Vectorworks and this is simply what I came up with this morning. To answer your question, it might be possible to create a marionette that does what you are requesting. Simplifying the geometry and tweaking rendering settings would be the first step. Then, you would have to create the marionette in such a way that it would insert various symbol instances based on a set of criteria and you could change those through edit fields. Not my cup of tea and it would certainly take some time to create the marionette, but I'd still be curious to see what a savvy user might come up with. PS: just refreshed page and noticed @Kevin Allens post
  23. Rendering 2200 bracelets on medium settings without them emitting light took just over a minute on my machine.
