I'm using Vectoroworks Architect 2018. The switch over hasn't been too hard, just frustrating, especially as I've had to make the switch from Mac to Windows at the same time. I love this Datum Marker ..... Thank you all for saving a lot of my time!

Hi all, Ive recently moved over to VW 2018 from AutoCAD due to a new job. In AutoCAD, you could offset the start of a line/poly by holding on a point, then dragging in the offset direction and typing in the offset distance. You could therefore start drawing a line/polylight a certain distance from a point without having to do any extra actions in between. Is there any way of doing this VW? I need it to be a quick solution. Offsetting another line or drawing a line and having to go back to delete it unfortunately isnt efficient enough. Thanks Vectorworks 2018, Windows 10

Good Morning all, I am new to Vectorworks. Previously a Mac AutoCAD user, Im finding it very difficult to change over. My current problem is trying to get a grid to appear. Im working in Vectorworks Architecture and working on large 1:1 scale plans. My design layers will be covering over 1km. Is there any way to get a grid to cover everything. At the moment there is a tiny 840mm x 840mm grey 3x3 grid in the middle of my design layer. When I show the grid and play around with the smart cursor settings, sometimes blue lines will appear in this tiny grid. Thats all I can make it do. Please help me. As my new job uses Vectorworks Id love to be able to enjoy using the program but Im finding it very hard to see that happening at the moment. @JimW It happens sporadically, with any type/size/number of documents open. I'm using VW2018 on Win7.

Hi @zoomer The other files dont appear as a second window. There will be say 3/4 tabs at the top, however the latest file opened will stay docked even if I try and switch between them. The only way I have managed has been to close the other files and re-open them, which unfortunately is a slow and painful process.

Switching between documents is now broken. If you go to Window - and select a different document - the view will change - but the navigation will not update and all the tasks happen in the original document. Nothing seems to be happening until you switch back to the original document and its all happened there. If you select the windows tab, the tick remains by the originial document never mind if you switch between several other documents. The only fix I have found is to close all the documents. VW itself does not need to close. 'ctrl + tab' or 'alt + tab' dont seem to work either. It goes without saying that this is a huge problem and is incredibly frustrating when working on several documents.

Did you ever manage to find a way to edit multiple Classes. Im trying to change all the pen colours to the same colour without having to change each one manually.
