  1. Also to add, I thought that CC and Spotlight cable paths were the same object. I currently have to re-draw existing cable routes and routes on trusses that the LX team have already done.
  2. I have been using CC for installations, and although the current workflow serves as a best guess for cable lengths in the installation world, I am increasingly utilising CC for live events. I have noticed that associating equipment with drop points that the distance of that item from the drop point has no bearing on the cable length. This is a bit strange as iin spotlight world cabling can exit at any point in the cable path. And then cables can be made up of pre-determined inventory. This cabling routing is part of the spotlight toolset but would be an additional setop if we already have schematics. Would it be possible to have an option to use a cable path as a drop point, and then associate equipment with a point in the cable path instead of a drop point? reducing the ammount of clutter on the cable path. Maybe a new "type"of cable path would need to be implemented.
  3. There have been other posts about this, because of how the PIOs work there has been relctance to do this through duplication and adding connectors because for eack socket there are a number of variations. One type of scoket style and label I would love now that adapters are in use for slots is a slot socket and label style.
  4. Thank you, I can see how this will work. I shall play with this moethof. So there is no current tool to convert an object to a distributor.
  5. Hello, I have recently started using the power planning suite as feel it will be useful for the projects I am involved in completing the story. I have been sble to create the distributors we have in rental stock without issue, I am now trying to add conumer parts to existing 3D layout symbols we have for racks and equipment. Placing a consumer part in the geometry of the symbol in 3D doesn't show in the power information in the info pallete, and does not allow me to add cables to it from distributors. If I convert my symbol to a Lighting device it behaves as expected in power planning, but as a result I end up with a device that contains data inputs I do not want or require in the info pallete. I have made sure that the consumer part is placed in the Power-Parts-Concumer Class in case this was causing a bug ny not being there. I am running 2023 SP5
  6. I have found the same issue with 21. And it has been reported as a bug to VW and been able to replicate it in 20 when I submitted it. Same position as MarcW haven't been in the point cloud world and ended up using Revit to do what I needed to do at the time because of this bug.
  7. jblock, I have reported that there is a problem in VW2020 section viewports of pointclouds display as black. This was replicated by the support team. I have now upgraded to 2021 hoping it would be fixed, but alas the problem persists. EDIT - Just looked back through my emails and I think it was you that may have replied to my support query 😉
  8. I like the idea of clipping, but when creating as built drawings I would like to use the section lines I already have to compare against the point cloud.......Previously using VW 2017 this was not an issue. Just came back to VW and it doesn't work as before.
  9. Alas, I am having the same problem in VW 2020, Clip cube works correctly in Design Layers, but creating section viewports it is a black square. I have tried the fill options, and also seen the webinar about working with pointclouds from some years ago.
