Pat, forgive me but i am not sure how to create the script and make it work. I did make the symbol and named it correctly. I did put the info into the script editer...

I thought the Document Preferences / B&W was for screen viewing only. I will have to go try this. My second problem is that what i thought was a "rigging point" is actually a 2d Loci. Any suggestion to print those or insert a symbol onto each one i have in a drawing?? There is about 600.

Okay, little update, I need to print 2d Loci. I don't think this is possible. Anyone know?

Is there any quick way to print my drawing or export a pdf without color? I need a Black & White Only print!!! Thanks in advance.

Hello all, I have done the following, used the angle tool and created the size I wanted, then Convert To Group, then I extrude that to 4'. I now need to make the ends have a 45deg angle. I have tried to Trim and Clip Surface, both did not work. Help? Did I even create the 3d Angle properly? Is there an easier way? Thanks in advance

Kevin, I do have the correct header info, but VW will not let me select the data entry area or enter in any info in the cells for Gobo 1 column. Gobo 2 does work..... Any ideas?

I have created a 'report' instrument scheduale... it shows Gobo 1 & Gobo 2. I am unable to type info into Gobo 1 in the worksheet. I am able to put the info in the object info pallet, but when I recalaculate the worksheet the info does not show up. What has happened??? VW2008 SP2 Mac

I love the Layers- "Grey Snap Other" feature in the design layers. Now I would like it if there was a "Grey Other Objects While Editing Groups" or even better a "Grey Snap Other Objects While Editing Groups" option I would be super happy! Thanks for considering this.

Is there any way to snap to the 3d Loci only?? It seems that snapping to loci is attached to the 'snap to objects' constraints. I need to do this in 3d, not 2d. Thanks in advance.

You are correct. But i need to find a workaround without rendering. at least for text!

So i want to have 3d text in my drawing and in some of my 3d only symbols. I have done the TrueType to Polyline & then Extrude or Convert to 3d Poly. But my problem is that when it becomes 3d the fill goes away. I want the fill to show in the letters without rendering the drawing. How do i do this??

Does Nemetschek have any recommended plotters? We are using VW 12.5 Designer and mostly on Macs. Looking for something that will print all sizes including 'E' Size and the majority of what is being printed is technical drawings not rendered images. Some days our print load is 15 different sheets with multiple copies. We currently have a HP 1055cm (it is old and slow) and was looking into a HP 4500MFP. Thanks.

I am trying to group a bunch of symbols and then change the CLASS of the the new group, but somewhere along the way i had the dialog box come up and i must have selected 'Change all items in group' How do i switch that back? I only want the group as a certain class, not all the items in the group. Thanks, Drew

Petri, That might work but unfortunately i need 3d. Insert my sad face here.

I have already created the fence i need by the painstakingly process of extruding, polylines, and 45 deg rotations. I unfortunately cannot use the line extrude with texture for two reasons, 1- with this extrude you cannot see thru the fence, 2- most of the drawings i work on we do not render and therefor the texture would not show up. I was hoping there was a Fence Tool much like the Wall Tool that would make life simple. Especially when desgining landscape, what do most people do?? Create a fence from scratch? I know you can make a Roadway & a Guardrail, but no fence? Please tell me i am wrong. Robert, maybe this is something that can be on the "In The Near future" list. Thanks

What is the best way to make a chain link fence? i need to make a 6' high fence line with posts spaced every 20'. It also has a 12' swinging door section. AND of course in 3d. I did a search in the fourms and have not found much. Thanks

Just updated to 12.5, after editing my workspace, i am getting the error "The following items are no longer a part of VectorWorks: Stack Layers" BUT I see it in the 'all menu' option. Any ideas?
