  1. Eric, I had the same problem and in order to make the rendering appear in a PDF you need to use Acrobat Distiller and not the PDF Writer. Distiller handles complicated images where as the Writer is mainly for creating PDFs from text. I am currently using version 5.0 but I am not sure if Distiller is included in version 4.0.
  2. I am running XP Pro as well. The program always crashes if Acrobat Distiller or PDF Writer is selected in print set up when I try to open a new file through the dialogue. Though it has happened without this selected on occasion.
  3. I am having the same issues and have tried the same things as you. Just wanted to post to let others know this is not an isolated issue. If I open a file by selecting directly from Windows I can open files but not from Files\Open dialogue.
