    VW not Using GPU

@milezee Hi, that is right. During Renderworks (Rendering) Vectorworks using only CPU to processing the Render. And GPU it's using to show the graphics on screen (Palletes, Windows and Menu) 2D Graphics, Wireframe, Design and Sheet Layer. Follow a table that explained exactly that Vectorworks using during the processing.
  2. @beanus Hi, Good Morning. Beanus, In this case (Rendering views in Sheet Layers) the Vectorworks uses only the CPU (i7-7770K) to process the rendering. As higher the result is in this test (CineBench) the better is the rendering time. Nowadays the best CPU to rendering it is AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/cpu_benchmark-cinebench_r15_multi_core-8 Best Regards Paulo Renan Ferrari
  3. @Cadplan Architecture Hi ,Good morning. For Mac OS X, the only configuration that you have is off the automatically graphic card switching. This configuration forces Mac OS use always the Radeon R9 M370X. Regards, Paulo Ferrari https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202043 http://osxdaily.com/2017/01/08/disable-gpu-switching-macbook-pro/

    Vectorworks 2017 Slow on Mojave

@en3o Hi, Probally Vectorworks 2017) it's not compatible with Mojave (10.14) "Vectorworks 2017 & earlier: If you use a version of Vectorworks that was released prior to Vectorworks 2018, we recommend that you DO NOT upgrade your operating system, because critical bugs were introduced in the release of macOS Mojave that will affect the performance and stability of Vectorworks." 8700k vs. 9700k

@zoomer Yeah Zoomer rs it's New in Core i7 models. Hyperthreading usually it's disable in Core i5 Models That's why I have not switched my i7 yet hehe. It's a little bit difference, doesn't justify more investment. And unfortunately, Core i9 it's so expensive to me 😀. https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/compare_cpu-intel_core_i7_8700-764-vs-intel_core_i7_9700k-888

    MacBook Pro issue

@mattryan Hi your Graphic Card it's incompatible with Vectorworks 2018, it's need a dedicated Graphics cards to running Vectorworks 2018 correctly. Bellow follow a list that I made with MacBook Pro, that it's works with Vectorworks 2018. ‐ MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)* ‐ MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012)* ‐ MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)* ‐ MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), With GeForce GT750M* ‐ MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), With GeForce GT750M* ‐ MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), With AMD R9 M370X ‐ MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), With Radeon 450,455 e ou 460 - MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), With AMD Radeon Pro 555 or 560 - MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018), With AMD Radeon Pro 555X, 560X, Vega 16, or Vega 20 * This MacBook's uses a Low to middle Graphic Card Range, it's recommend for a small and medium projects, without many details in 3D. Please, that it's some tricks to compatible your Vectorworks with your lower Hardware. Try this that I adjusted in this video in your Vectorworks running in your MacBook Pro with Intel Graphics. Worth getting a dual processor motherboard?

@zoomer I Agree, I access a good site to check quickly the best CPU Score in Cinebench R15 (Render Score). https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/cpu_benchmark-cinebench_r15_multi_core-8 According with this site (Score list), the best CPU to Rendering it's AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX (5189). (But probably, this site don't have all CPU that market have). Regards Paulo Renan Ferrari
