  1. Hi everyone, I have a videoscreen hanging under a truss, but at some distance under that truss, therefor it doesn't autoconnect to it. Obviously I'd like to have it connected to the truss so Braceworks uses it in the calculations. I've read several things on hanging position which suggests it's what I need, but I might just be very slow in understanding the explanations, because I can't get it done. I've attached a test setting to this topic. What I want is to have the LED screen attach to the truss, but both staying on their current position. Help please? lower screen attaching test.vwx
  2. Hi Stefan, I've tried to make it a hanging position, that makes me give it numers and what not. It does give me the option to attach a fixture to it. But my question is, why wouldn't there be a category named rigging accessoires or something, to put things like clamps and such in?
  3. Hi, I've installed today's servicepack 3 and updated the library. Am I correct in not seeing Prolyte h30V and H30D truss anymore??
  4. @Cristiano Alves On 12/26/2023 at 8:07 PM, Scott C. Parker said: You should be able to do a rotation by selecting all and rotating with your start point at zero, zero. I made it. But I don't know how much exactly I need to rotate them. Can you provide a correct workflow to snap the bottom of the fixture on Z plan = 0? Anyway, I made it manually and now is better. I usually use the rotation tool, your lines goes between two objects that shouls be straight, and with snap to angle on, it should snap to level.
  5. Hi everyone, When drawing a truss structure with curtains in it, Braceworks often tells me that the distibuted load is longer than the structural element, even when it isn't. I've included an example to visualize my point. What I think Braceworks does is see a structure as seperate elements. In my example when I draw the trusses, it names the corners T0, and the lengths attached to them T0-1, T0-2, and T03. My curtain runs along the length and one side of the corner, and because these have different names, Braceworks sees those as seperate elements and therefor gives the error "the distributed load is longer than the structural element" and refuses to continue. Am I right in thinking this is what's happening? And if so, how do I make Braceworks recognise one structure as one structure? Hoping for a simple solution, Peter Telleman example system and curtain.vwx
  6. That works brilliant! Thank you very much, never used intersect solids before.
  7. Hi everyone, I'm trying to make a cube with rounded corners, but I can't seem to get it done. I've attached a picture of a Prolyte boxcorner as an example of what I want to get as a result. Anyone want to explain this to me? thank you, Peter Telleman
  8. Hi everyone, I've made a truss library with trusses we commonly use. to get my lists I'm using the new Inventory And Equipment List. I've found that this list takes the names from the record rather than the symbolname. So I've made black trusses out of existing trusses, and changed the Silver in all records to Black. If I now use this truss in a new drawing it changes back to silver. Is there a way to make these changes of mine permanent?? best regards, Peter
  9. To give a little more info on the above questions. I've also tried adding it to the truss with the Lighting Device Tool, that makes it attach to the truss, so technically, that answers my first question, but unfortunately not my second. When I try it with the Hanging Position Tool, it doesn't connect to the truss, but it does attach lights to my symbol. I do hate you have to give it a number when using hanging position. So I'm looking for a third option that combines the good parts of the first two options 🙂
  10. Hi everyone, Let me start by wishing all a great 2024! My question today is: I have a couple of custom parts, one of them is the attached trussbar. This bar is used as an outrigger for lights, by attaching the clamps to one side of the truss (topside). Is there a way for me to have custom parts like this snap attach to a truss, and then select which way it faces (similar to how lights snap attach to trusses). Obviously I have a follow up question, how do I then snap attach a light fixture to my custom symbol? @markdd maybe right up your alley?? Thanks in advance, Peter Telleman custom trussbar.vwx
  11. @markdd Not too worried about inventory count, but I was just really curious it it could work on a single baseplate. But I probably just make two different ones then 🙂
  12. @markdd That's exactly what I mean, but how do I then assign the different truss type to each magnet?
  13. @markdd Thanks a lot again. But I'm going one step further now, is it also possible to have triangle an square truss connect to the right spot on a baseplate?? so have two magnets on a plate to connect those two types?? I get that I could just make one for square and one for triangular, but it would actually be nice to be able to have both connect to the same baseplate 🙂 By the way, once I add the second trusstype to the "connectable with" field, the magnet turns 90 degrees, I can probably re-arrange this in 3D edit, but I wonder why it does that.
  14. @markdd Follow up question, If I want both H30D en X30D to connect to a baseplate, do I just add an extra connectable?
  15. Hi everyone, Is there a setting to have all worksheets in a drawing automatically recalculate every time you close a drawing? thanks in advance, Peter
  16. @markdd@aheininen Thanks a million guys!
  17. @markdd When I right-click the only customize option I get, is "customize truss" symbol data, which doesn't have a "connectable with" field. What am I doing wrong, or am I not seeing? Have you tried my symbol, maybe I already made a mistake there? I'm using VW 2024
  18. Hi Everyone, I've made a base plate truss symbol with a magnet. At the moment any type and shape of truss can connect to it. How do I adapt it to only allowing Prolyte 30V truss to it? In the same way you can't connect trusses to each other that aren't the same type. Added is the baseplate I've made thanks a lot, Peter baseplate experiment.vwx
  19. @Domas Hi Domas, The custom selection command does what I want it to do, thanks a lot for explaining that one!
  20. @Domas Hi, this is the way I described. It works to replace the selected type for a different type, but what I'm looking for is to be able to replace the whole type with a different type, so all are replaced. It's quite time consuming to select a thousand curtains in different halls. So I'm hoping for a replace all kind of solution in the manner wall styles, roof styles and such have.
  21. Hi everyone, I've made styles for my different types of curtains. Now I've made a big drawing with a lot of different styles, and it's decided to change my white curtains for black curtains. What I now need to do is select all those pieces of curtain, and then replace the style in the object info. What I'm hoping for is to be able to replace it in the resource browser, similar to what you have for wall styles and such. I've not been able to find a way to do this, Can anybody tell me if this is possible, and if so, tell me how?? Thanks a million, Peter. by the way, attached is a file with two different curtain styles as an example replace test.vwx
  22. A small update. I at least found where the difference comes from. The pipe and drape tool places drapes per slider, not for the overall length of the stretch of pipe and drape. That sounds like something I should be able to adapt, because obviously I would want the drape count for the overall length, not for every individual slider.
  23. Found it, thanks a million. Thought it was in the plug in manager as well, and was going mental trying to find it 🤪
