  1. When I need to do notes in columns I create a worksheet. It would be great though to have the same type of formatting in a text object.
  2. You could apply a glow texture to the ceiling. Attached images show shaded view before/after glow texture applied to ceiling.

Is this what you were trying to do. Use the correct preset stair template. In the settings dialog you can click in the grey shaded area of the treads that I've circled in the attached image. You can set properties of the tread there. Stair Winder.vwx
  4. I just tried what @markdd said. Relative angle can be set from the angle snap settings or toggled on and off with the forward slash key. I learnt something new today, Yay!
  5. You have the grid line class turned off in your viewport (see attached image) once I turned the class on it showed up.
  6. When I have a project with lots of design layers I use layer filters. This give you lots of flexibility because you can create as many filters as you want, like all first floor layers, or Structural layers only, or layers that start with North etc.
  7. Two ways to set the font size of the door tag. 1. Select the door, Then from the top menu bar Select Text/Size and pick the font size you want. 2. Create a door tag class and assign a font style to the class. Select the door in the OIP select "Settings/ID Tag/ and change the ID class for the door to the class you created."
  8. I didn't see this as a new feature but I just noticed that in VW2023 when editing a slab boundary other objects are now visible. Thank you VW team!
  9. This reminds of an incident that happened to me many years ago. I was trying to help someone out over the phone with a problem they were having with AutoCAD. He was complaining that he was drawing a rectangle 2"x2" and that no matter how many times he drew it it was the wrong size. After some back and forth I finally figured out his problem. He was drawing a 2"x2" rectangle then using his ruler to measure the rectangle on the computer screen.
  10. What if you selected the top level container of the door object and placed that into the rotator object. I haven't tried it out myself yet to see if will work.
  11. I've mostly used two layers one for the strip footings and one for the stem walls. I've also have done this where I create a CIP wall type with three components the two outside components are the footing extension beyond the wall with an offset from the top of the wall to create my footing height. In the component settings you set the line weight of the left or right side of footing extension to be 0 so that in section the footing and stem wall appear as one object. This method works well if you have a consistent wall height and footing size, and the wall and footing now act as a single unit that moves and joins as one. Strip footing.vwx
  12. I did this using the framing member tool with a custom profile.
  13. I've requested this feature when they first came out with the new grid line tool. I wonder if there is a way to modify the grid-bubble layout to create a custom style so that it can show detail#/Sheet number with the appearance of a section marker. Then I would only have to place them once in a plan view and have it show up automatically in the section and elevation viewports, rather than doing it manually for every section and elevation viewport. Only thing is the grid-line/section markers would probably not be smart and update when a viewport is moved to another sheet.
  14. I'm set to retire in a few years. I gave up my personnel VW subscription because the company I work for pays for Service Select and I use their license. I was thinking I'd leave myself open to doing the occasional small job when retired. However with a subscription model I won't be able justify paying for it every year. So I guess I'll just have to force myself to sit on the deck and drink beer instead.
  15. What @michaelk said is is usually my approach as well. Here is an example file. Roof.vwx
  16. You could use the curtainwall tool. Set your mullions where you want then change the panels in front of the structure to another texture. In the attached image I just grabbed whatever texture to fill the panel (probably would not use brick and sheathing). To stick a curtain wall into an opening in the wall you have to group it first.
  17. @Pat Stanford Wow, I did not know you could split a viewport. Just tried and it works easy.
  18. Edit the wall style. 1-select the component in the wall editor 2-select the edit button 3-choose offset component option and set the amount to offset by. You can set this as a default in the wall style editor, or you can do it on a per wall basis by selecting components in the OIP for a selected wall. You can chose to offset the top or bottom of the component.
  19. Here are three viewports of the same wall. The brick texture was changed in the second and third viewport by using a class override for the brick in those viewport.
  20. @Shane W Regarding your troublesome extrudes. I've found that if you assign an actual texture to the extrudes in Vectorworks before sending them to Twinmotion they behave much better. I don't think TM likes objects with no textures assigned. If some objects appear to be missing in TM they could be there but without a texture. If you can find the object in the TM object list on the right side of the screen, you can select it there then assign a material to it and it will appear.
  21. Select the curtain wall edit tool, then select the frame or frame pieces. Right click and select edit frame. You can change the material 3 ways, change the class it is assigned to, select a different material in the use material option of change the texture in the texture box.
  22. Create a Class for the door ID tag and assign a font style to it. In the door OIP set the ID class to the class you created. If you change the font style in your ID class then your door style font will change. You may need to right click on the door style open it for editing then close it again in order to force the update.
  23. What about using stacked viewports of the same view duplicated on a sheet layer. In viewport one you set it to hidden line rendering and the image props of people turned off. On top of that is viewport two with only the image props turned on and a rendering mode that will show the image props.
  24. @zoomer I had asked for the Ryzen 9 5950X for the same reason you mentioned above. However Lenovo who will supply the computer only has the Threadripper chips as part of their workstation lineup. Since it is a company computer they want the brand name support. If it was my own computer I would go for the Ryzen chip and 3080ti graphics card.
  25. I created a model in Vectorworks and rendered it in Twinmotion for a project in our office. It turned out nicely and the partners were happy with the result. Unfortunately my current office computer has nowhere near the power of my personnel home computer I built a couple of years ago. This meant that I would work on the model at the office then go home to do the rendering in TM. They now have decided to purchase a new office computer for me. Below are the specs. I was pushing to get the 3080ti, but that pushed it past the budget they could approve. Since I only have a few years till retirement, I'm thinking this should last me.
